Couple quick questions about side effects after accutane is discontinued. I finished my second round of accutane about a week and a half ago. Up until about 5 days ago, which would have been probably one week after my last dose, I had been feeling great. No depression, no acne, dryness wasn't that bad. 5 days ago I had sudden onset brain fog, or chemo brain, or fogginess, however you want to describe it. My concentration and overall ability to think went from probably a 9 to a 2 on a 10 point scale in a couple days. Some people have described it as an out of body experience and I just want to get your take on it. I felt better while on my highest does of the medication, which seems so odd to me. I dont feel like myself at all. I will try to stick it out. Is it possible that I have been drinking too much water? Is that even a thing? Can someone just give me some advice and help explain why side effects would come on so suddenly after stopping the medication?

Give it maybe a month or so- i had this feelings during and even after i finished! I felt like i was a body going through the motions, without actual emotion. Felt weird- i also have bad dryness after the meds- my skin peels very badly.

Some of us seem to experience what could be considered withdrawal effects a few weeks after stopping the Accutane.

Symptoms that were not present during treatment will develop shortly after the last pill, or symptoms that were present will suddenly get much worse.

I sincerely hope brain-fog is your only problem right now.

Luckily, this seems to be an Accutane side effect that usually goes away or gets less severe over time.

You might want to just stay active, eat right, and keep your mind occupied and wait to see if it passes.

Avada pretty much summed up the best known way to go about dealing with it.

Take care.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's been all I can think about for the last couple days and I was getting pretty worried. This is the only side effect I have so it looks like I'll just have to stick it out and hopefully I'll feel better in a couple days. Happy Holidays.

Ok so for a couple weeks my head was feeling a lot better but now it just came back pretty full force. Same old stuff, trouble concentrating, remembering, thinking, just a general out of body spacey feeling. Im just confused as to why a) this would start after a side effect free course, and b) why it would come and go like this.

Im thinking taking a multivitamin is a good move right now. Also like who would I see about this if I wanted to do that?
