Hey.

I am only a month and a half into accutane (20mg first month, 40mg second) and I have heard its very common for breakouts to make your skin a lot worse than when you first started, which is the case with me. Its about 3 times as worse and the other day I thought it was starting to finally improve but then overnight I ended up with like 6-8 new painfully large whiteheads in the morning.

So I am just curious as when you actually started to see improvements or no more breakouts? I am hoping its very soon for me as its starting to get a bit too much (getting worse and worse).

Hey mate. im around halfway through my 4th month now and im still breaking out. Pretty much no improvement. Its different for everyone though so hopefully you will clear up quick. My dosages have been 10mg for 1m, 20mg for 2 months and 30mg for this month. So pretty low. Good luck man

started my 7th month... my meds were extended because of continues breakouts. Erm... i may stop wearing makeup and just go minimal because my skin is so sensitive that getting it off it a burden ontop of light cleansing and hydrating.

My son's initial breakout was bad, too. It was hard.

I'd say it started improving around week 10 or so. His skin was completely clear by month 4.

But, I know it really varies. Check in with your dermatologist and hang in there. My son is so glad he did.

Good luck to you!
