Hey guys first time poster here, few weeks reading around here. Im 19 years old and really did not have acne at all in high school, then last month i broke out and went to the derm for my acne. I was prescribed epiduo + minocin 100mg, one in the A.M, one in the P.M. Just looking for side thoughts on these products. Also every morning and before bed i use cetaphil gentle cleanse. Ive been using these products for about 2 weeks now and i dont really know what to think of it all.. i feel like my skin the acne bumps have been reduced tons, like my skin is smooth, but looks like i have rough acne?. im getting more whiteheads than i really ever have and i feel like if i could stop them i would be in good shape. i only have one picture of my face from when i started and its not a very good one(red shirt). Id just like to hear some thoughts on these meds i was prescribed because the epiduo is not covered by our insurance and id like to hear what people have to say about it, along with the minocin. thanks guys! If i need to add anything thing, please tell me.
With epiduo its important to only use a very small amount (peasize) and also moisturise afterwards. I personally found that epiduo took around 3-4 months before it got me completely clear. Unlike you though I use a topical antibiotic where you're using an oral one.
Try not to be too impatient, all treatments take time. Stick with it for at least 4 months before you can accurately determine if its working for you or not.
Good luck!
Epiduo works good but you have to wait 3 months to get the full results. 2 weeks in is way to early to determine if it is working but if you hang in there with it you should clear up really good.
Haha, you took the words out of my mouth while I was typing my reply
I was on mino for a good 3 months and it cleared me up but the effects lasted for about 9-10 months before the acne came back. You can't stay on antibiotics forever so hopefully the combo of mino and epiduo clear you up faster and once you are off the antibiotics, you can still maintain the epiduo without your acne flaring back up.
Good luck!
