Hi all, this is my first post on here but I have been reading this forum for at least a year as a non-member. Anywho, I went to the derm last summer and was put on 10% benzoyl peroxide as well as 1% topical clindimycin which helped a bit in clearing my moderate acne on face and back. I went back to the derm earlier this week to discuss other treatment options and he said I would be a good canidate for Accutane. I have certainly read my fair share on its effectiveness, side effects, and I even follow some of the Accutane logs. I was hoping to get some first hand insight for those of you who have tried Accutane in the past or are currently taking it. The derm also perscribed me tretinoin if I choose to not go on Accutane which I understand is a retinoid-- but the derm said it wouldn't be overly effective on my inflamed acne.

I am actually heading off to college this year, so I was thinking I might give the tretinoin a go for 2-3 months and then if that doest work go on the Accutane for a 4-5 month course as recommneded by my derm.
