belara is a good pill for acne, ive been taking it a few months, it cleared my skin up well. however i stopped taking it for about 2 weeks and that was enough for my skin to erupt. couldn't handle it so went back on and its clearing back up.

I absolutely loved ortho tri-cyclin lo, but my insurance doesn't cover it anymore. I could just tell that my entire body worked better when I was on it. We'll see what happens! I am nervous about the increase in estrogen with moods and such, but I guess I'll have to play it by ear.

A bit delayed, but I was actually wondering what your experience was on Ortho specifically...how long did it take for you to clear on it? Also, did you get an initial breakout? Just curious I've been on it for a week and nothing extreme has happened. There was a breakout on my forehead, but it cleared in a few days, and the acne on my cheeks (problem area) might be a little deeper, but it's not painful or inflamed and goes away pretty quickly.

I did not experience an initial breakout. My skin got a bit clearer because my acne has a lot of dietary connections that were unresolved at the time. I was never clear on it. I was using it only as birth control. In general I felt very good on it. I did not experience any weight gain, mood swings, headaches, etc. that many bcp can cause as side effects. It really worked well with my body.
