Another question regarding my daughter. She is 18 and has suffered from some rather bad acne throughout her teens. She is on the BCP (sprintec) and has tried every product, chemical peel, you name it. She had gone on bactrim several years ago. Her face finally cleared up. We have been given two completely different viewpoints on the very long-term use of this drug. The dermatologists say "absolutely no concern or risk whatsoever". Other physician friends have the exact opposite viewpoint. Common sense tells me that this is not a good drug to stay on. We finally made her go off of it. Her face is now having major problems again. She is back on the bactrim and I do not see her going off of it for a very, very long time. She can now make her own medical decisions at age 18. She was upset about going off of it in the first place. Any thoughts? Thank you!.

Ive been on it for a while and havent had any problems. I think one of the biggest risk is your body becomes immune to it. If it works I would keep using it until it doesnt or you no longer need it. Thats just my opinon I know a lot of people are anti antibiotics.
