I was prescribed Retin-A and I have been doing research. I have heard nothing but absolute horror stories. My skin isn't even that bad and I am terrified to start using it because every single review I have heard, everyone says they have a really bad initial breakout that lasted no shorter than a month. Is it worth it?!

Absolutely 100% worth it. The problem is with most stories you'll find on here are from people who are not commited to their treatment (not all, but many). If you use it every night, even through the first couple of weeks of "initial breakout", into the future you'll get the long term results you are looking for.

Most people are looking for instant gratification with their acne, which simply doesn't exist since a lot of the acne we have we can't even see coming yet! Retin-A is something you can use for the rest of your life to, unlike Accutane/Antibiotics. So its a worthwhile investment of time and money - in my opinion.

Its worth it people just expect it to work in a few weeks when in reality it takes at least 3 months to get the full benefit from it.

Thank you for the advice. My dermatologist did say it would take up to three months for results but I am terrified of the initial breakout especially because it's summer and I want to be out doing things. But the long run is wha I'm looking for of course. Thank you :)
