Tetracycline For 1 1/2 Years

I've taken Tetracycline for 1 1/2 years. I've missed perhaps 1 or 2 days a week. I take 500 mg in the morning.

In the last week I've been having stomach pains in my upper left abdomen and recently a general upset stomach. I've also been having loose bowel movements. I went to a walk-in-doctor yesterday and she said to stop taking the Tetracycline for a couple weeks and my stomach problems may clear up.

I have not taken any tetracycline today but my stomach problem is still there. What can I do to get my stomach back to normal? Will it take a few days?

Definitely give it a few days! If it took over a year to feel the pain, it will take a week minimum for the pain to go away. If its not better within two weeks then I would look into your diet, extended periods of bad foods can do this to you.

Thanks for the reply. I know tetracycline long term can have some bad effects. But I've been okay until recently. Hopefully this will clear up soon. Perhaps the stomach ache is not even related to the Tetracycline.

Any other input is welcome.
