hi,

I used accutane for only 1 month last year. Aside from the horrible depression, I noticed in the months following my hair seemed to be a lot thinner at the hairline/crown. Ive always had very thick hair so this was a big suprise. Im not one to just let things happen so I did a bit of research on natural remedies for hair loss. Im female, but anyone can use this recipe:

2 cups of jojoba oil

10 drops lemon balm oli, rosemary oil and lavendar oil

5 drops cedar atlas oil.

I mix them in a spray bottle and spray around my hairline and crown. Jojoba oil isnt greasy so it wont make you feel dirty. I rub it in and let it sit, you can leave it on anywhere from half and hour to overnight.

Within 3 months (I dont shampoo everyday but you certainly can) I noticed my hair growing in a lot better.

Also, I take a supplement called hairomega 3-in-1, it has saw palmetto, green tea, nettles, so isoflavones and a lot of vitamins. There is some concern overl males taking saw palmetto but it helps acne and baldness in both sexes. Its anti-DHT, which helps against baldness.

I also take spearmint, which again helps acne and is anti-DHT. You can make tea using 1 teabag per cup, I just make 6 cups and refrigerate it, or you can take spearmint capsules. I buy Swanson brand, they are about $2.99.

I hope this helps, this was created by a woman with alopecia areata and it helped her regain normal hair growth.

If only there was a remedy for long term hairloss, this side effect has been nothing shirt of completely devestating and has deeply eroded my confidence and self worth as a woman

Same here . I mean, doing something makes me feel more in control than doing nothing, but I dont know how much it will really help in the end.

Honestly I have tried it all.

My hair started falling out in handfuls 3 weeks after ceasing it and has continued to fall out ever since. That was in December 2010.

My hair used to grow so fast it had to be coloured every four weeks.

A fewer ha after the hairloss started It started drying out severely and is now completey dead and lifeless like straw or fairy floss.

No natural oils and my scalp is dry, flakey, sore and irritated.

Things I've tried to combat this:

Argan, coconut, calendula, jojoba oils

Every kind of salon product amenixil, spray nutrients which I still use protein treatments, I bought regain and then solecisms it was not worth risking the side effects,

All in all I believe my hair follicles sebaceous gland are so dried out/ dead my scalp cannot retain the hair as the hair bulb is so tiny and shrivelled there is no way anything that's in it can nourish either the scalp or hair.

It's only gotten so much worse over time and I now face shaving my head at this point

Devestated. It's one of many sideffects I now suffer from after this drug

Forgot to mention all the supplements I've taken for hair skin and mails as well:

Biotin, liquid silica, folic acid, vitamin e, spirulina, zinc, iron.

Nothing has managed to help even in the slightest
