I see you mentioned BP as one of the things you've tried. I also tried that years back, 10% same as your BP and it didn't work for me at all. It made my skin flake and sore and it was painful. After about 2 months on it I moved on to other treatments.

Today, it has been BP 2.5% that has saved my skin. I use it under the instructions of The Regimen. I was skeptical to even try it but 10 weeks later, my skin is now clearer than ever. BP was what helped me control my acne, I just needed the right instructions. Maybe give that a try before taking oral contraceptives.

Good luck! 🙂

hello,

if you decide to take the pill, you have to realise they are not all the same, and we all react differently. There was a use by the name green gables on here who had a great list of the hormones that help with acne etc.

The ones that help are - Diane 35

(most dramatic acne clearance but has more side effects such as weight gain etc than the others, not sure why). It cleared my skin but not worth the trade off with all the bad side effects i experienced. However, i have 2 cousins on it with no problem.

Yaz/Yasmin - also good for clearing up acne.

Ortho Cyclen - i think, they use this a lot in the US. I haven't seen it where i live.

Belara - i have taken this 3 times, but i now intend to stick to it to clear up my acne. Its supposed to be very good for skin + hair and no weight gain. I have actually lost weight on it.

Hope this helps.
