Penile Discharge (Month 2/3 Of Roaccutane

Started taking 30mg of Roaccutane mid december then had the dose increased to 60mg a day mid January...

Last week I noticed the top of my penis seemed constantly wet and noticed on 2 occassions the tip of the Urethra was red but had no pain/dryness... I've now noticed what seems to be mucus being released.

When I first noticed the symptoms I had a Chlamydia & Gonorrhea test done (urine sample) just incase but I'm 99% sure it isn't STI related (still waiting on results). After looking online it seems it's a side effect of the Roaccutane

I'm not due to visit my Dermatologist again until mid April... should I visit them sooner? It's not causing me any discomfort whatsoever so if it's not causing any damage I'd be happy to continue taking the Roaccutane. Can anyone give any advice?

sounds like Gonorrhea. Certainly it's not a side effect of Accutane. Where in the literature or the countless studies that have been done on accutane is this listed as a possible side effect?

Seen quite a few posts about it after doing a search on Google

Also came across a few threads with similar symptoms on here:

Yes Accutane can cause sexual dysfunction and Roche list Testicle atrophy as a side effect. I would stop the medication and call your derm though they will deny sexual side effects.....That is if you value your sexual function. You can also browse allthingsmale by dr. crisler who has helped some accutane victims and Dr. Kevin Pezzi google him he acutally suffered from sexual dysfunction from Accutane.

Don't listen to the above poster esspecially one who buys his accutane online without direction from a physican!

Leerworte aka mr Roche advocate seems to spend his time discrediting the side effects of accutane sufferers.

What do you have to gain from this mr Roche advocate?

Your attempt to down play our side effects and detract the focus from how toxic this drug is not going un noticed.

You really need to go to a doctor & get this sorted. It's possible it's a side effect, but seems more likely it'll be something unrelated & could be serious.

Just throwing this out there, but are you sure the discharge isn't pre-ejaculate leaking out?

Is it clear or is it cloudy?

I would often have a little pre-cum in the tip of my penis throughout the course of a day from the time I hit puberty till I took Accutane.

Accutane actually put and end to this and I rarely have pre-cum leakage anymore. ...and I developed ED and lowered semen volume while on it too, hooray!.

My recommendation is to quit accutane, but it's your choice.

You may also want to get checked for prostatitis.

Surely a urologist is the go-to doctor for what you are experiencing.

Hope you get it figured out.

Many thanks for the replies guys.. stopped taking the Accutane 2 days ago and going to book an appointment with my GP tomorrow.

Should I speak to the GP or Dermatologist first?

I would speak to the one I could see first, but def make an appt with both doctors. I would think derms may deny this as a symptom. Your gp can refer you to the right specialist, probably urologist. Wow never heard of this before, but will do more research.

If you are almost such it's not an STD, then I would say it's probably dryness caused by the accutane with a little smegma. Are you circumcised? Do you retract your foreskin everyday and wash?
