I got prescribed Accutane (Clarvis) in mid-January. I went to the Pharmacy to pick it up and they said that it was 821 dollars! I bought it thinking that maybe my insurance company would pay me back but that same night my mother said that they wouldn't and she made me take it back. Luckily the lady let me return it.
I have care first and apparently we have a really high deductible or something. I'm only 18 i don't even know how all this stuff works. It just seems really unfair that people with terrible coverage still get Accutane for only like 60 bucks but I have to pay 821!!
Go to costco,and ask them if your a member what your price will be. I found it for around $400 a month, or call around other pharmacies and ask them to quote you a price. Also appeal your insurance, most insurance companies have a different deductible for services vs prescriptions. check what your prescription deductible is, it may be around $500, meaning if you pay $520 for the first month they will pay the other few months, minus co pay of course.
