Your doctor/derm is not required to report adverse drug reactions, but you can report them directly to the FDA and some of the other drug regulatory agencies, depending on where you live.

FDA MedWatch- https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scrip...tch-online.htm

(They are having trouble with firefox, I had to use IE to file an online report)

U.K. Yellow Card System- http://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

Health Canada- https://webprod4.hc-sc.gc.ca/medeffe.../index-eng.jsp

If you would like to post a link or phone number for your country's medical regulatory agency, I'll try to add it to this post.

Do not use this thread for Accutane debates or to discuss your particular side effects.

This thread is meant for general information about reporting side-effects only.

I spoke with someone from the FDA; as far as she knew, there is no statute of limitations on reporting adverse events.

Would a moderator be so kind as to pin this?

what difference will this make. People have been reporting side effects since this medication was introduced - The FDA work in conjunction with these drug companies that dont care about peoples health or future - they cover it up or minimize it its a multi billion dollar industry - if the side effects were taken seriously it would have been removed from the market in every country years ago.

It makes a big difference when you consider adverse drug reactions are extremely under-reported.

The reporting rate for adverse events is estimated to be around %10.

Meaning if you hear that 10,000 individuals reported side effects for a certain drug, it is a safe bet that there are around 100,000 people actually experiencing side effects from that drug.

Why be part of the problem? Report your side effects directly instead of relying on your doctor. It only takes half an hour or so.

If everyone took their side effects seriously, it would put more pressure on the FDA to take them seriously.
