Breaking Out After Switching To Generic Yasmin

Hey ladies!

I have been on Yasmin for a few years now and it helped my skin out TREMENDOUSLY. I've been trying to save some money so I asked my pharmacy to switch to the generic brand of Yasmin ($5 vs. $35... yes please) but I've found myself breaking out with those huge painful under the skin zits around my chin.

I switched once before and broke out so I went back, I figured trying generic again was worth a shot but it's been 2 months and my skin is awful!! I'm switching back to Yasmin next month.

Does this happen to anyone else? Or does generic work for most of you? I guess $35 worth a month is worth it for clear skin!

i heard a lot of people experiencing this type of stuff. Sometimes the generic isn't as effective as the actual branded ones/original. Different formulations and less effective - i haven't taken generics though, I always stick to the branded stuff. $35 a month is nothing for the skin you had, i would switch back.

For whatever reason, more complex medications seem to fare worse when switched to a slightly different generic.

I'm on generic spiro and think it works fine, but compared to a birth control pill spiro is a very simple formulation.
