I took Accutane for 6 months, and as if Accutane not doing NOTHING for me wasn't enough, the flaky skin around my inner cheeks and nose will not go away. I'm now putting some lotion on the areas to try to get the flakiness to go away. I'm just wondering if anyone else had flakiness and wondering how they got rid of it.
Another thing I was wanting to know is who else Accutane did literally nothing for. I'm pretty sure that if Accutane doesn't work for you like it didn't for me that you're going to have acne forever. There's no getting rid of it. I'm 19, 20 in 6 months, and I still have moderate acne. I want to be happy but as long as this acne shit is here like it's been for the past 4 years, I can't be happy and I'll have to deal with being miserable. I get new pimples EVERY single day either on my face, my scalp, my chest, my back, my neck, etc. It's a complete joke. I hate my life.
All responses are appreciated. thanks.
Yo, would be good if you could perhaps provide a little more info in regards to your accutane course, i.e. what dosage were you on, what side effects did you experience etc.
It's difficult to reach much of conclusion based on the little info you have provided, but it does seem odd that you appear to be battling with dry and flaky skin whilst still suffering from acne of a similar level to what you were before you went on accutane. As I'm sure you're aware having dry skin usually means not having acne, as is the whole point of accutane after all..

I took 40 mg. The only side effects I experienced were dry lips and dry skin. The only good thing Accutane did was get rid of the oil on my nose. My nose was ridiculously oily before I took Accutane. Crazy oily.
Yes I know it's weird. Also, you can get acne from having dry skin. It's not just limited to oily skin.
Souds awful that accutane didin't work for you man , 40mg (does I'm also taking) it's relative low , my derm put me on this dosage and told me we will raise if my acne will not go away , but it did ,so here I' am still taking 40mg ,but your derm should bump you to 60 or 80 mg a day if you still had acne, accutane always works.
Try some AHA for that flaky skin.
