I have very mild breakouts that do not bother me.the skin on my nose started very oily and i have less blackheads. What should use? I though about retin-a , but it dries the skin. would not than increase oilyness ? is it good after accutane use cosmetics if oily skin back or not ?

Hi, I am almost a year post Accutane. My oil came back too. You need to set up a new daily skin care regiment. And you have a few options.

First you can use a gentle face wash like Cetaphil 2x a day and get a doctors prescription for retin-a ( the retin-a will take a few months to start working and may give you a few break outs, but if you stick with it, it should control your oil and you will have minimal break outs once it starts working)

Or

You need to get an oil controlling face wash that has Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide in it. Trying using it once a day at first to see how much it drys your skin out. ( I would also test it on a small portion of your face just to see how much it will dry your skin)

Or

You can go the natural route and wash you face with water and then use apple cider vinegar once at night as a toner. I would water it down a lot until you see how much it drys your skin out.

Last you will need a good moisturizer because the oil controlling cleaners or retin-a will cause dry skin. I use Neutrogena oil free for combination skin but really you will just need to test what works best for you.

It is also a good possibility that whatever you choose will make you face a little red and irritated at first because you skin is still really sensative from the Accutane. That's why I recommend what ever you choose just use it once a day at night to start.
