31 yr old female, have had acne breakouts for as long as I can remember, but what finally made me consider roaccutane was when i broke out in cysts on the left side of my cheek, 3 HUGE cysts that leave behind 2 holes?
Anyway the derm prescribed me Oratane started it right away and by day 2 i noticed aching all
over especially in the evening to the point where I would have to rest my arms while washing my hair!?
Within the week I noticed the healing of these cysts extremely fast and even pushed one up to the surface that was loitering on my face for awhile.
On day 6 my ears felt like they popped and felt kinda like water was in them some what crackly and my ears started ringing, this blocked feeling lasted about 2 hours the next day I went to see a doctor and assured me that I was not sick and my ears and throat was clear hmmmm
So I called the derm and told him, he said he was not convinced it was the Oratane and it was likely I had a bug (winter here in oz) and that it was too soon and too low of a dose for me to have these side affects? and to stop it for 2 weeks and start again, mind you I was only on 20mg, so the dosage would of been to ease me in for 2 weeks with the 20mg then 40mg for the next 5 1/2 mths
I still hear the ringing, could it really be the Oratane, hope I'm not being paranoid it has been 4 days since I've stopped.. not sure to start it up again or what to do next.

Doesn't matter dosage or legnth of time, everyone responds diffrently to Accutane. There have been some on this board who were on a low dose for a few days that had more severe issues...There some that have had high doses and are fine.
I am not sure where you are located and what side effects are listed on your package, but here in the U.S. Tinnitus is a listed side effect.

Hi there i'm 18 and i took ACCUTANE for 5 months, i was on a low dose of 40 mg. I have constant pressure in my right ear now, it also twicthes, crackles pops etc... I have never had any problems with my ears untill i took this. I have been off ACCUATNE for 3 months now and it's still there. I dont know what to do now , i have an ent appointment next month.
