I wondering if anyone has used these together? I started on low dose accutane 8wks ago (20mg once a week) and didnt see any improvement until about 3 weeks ago. My clogged pores in my chin are horrendous and every pore is bulging with what looks like pus but is not. They are those white clogs that look like they are close to the surface but when you try and extract or pick them off dont actually come all the way. Everyone one of my sebaceous filaments was enflamed and in trying to extract I made things worse. Initially it looks like a hard plug comes out but as the day goes on they refill with white pus? what is that? Did I dry out my skin too much by using these two meds and now my skin is trying to compensate? I look in the mirror and want to cry when I see my chin. They are everywhere and I spent so much time picking them out last night thinking it would be better and finally heal now that they are out. Boy was I wrong. I have prednisone and doxycycline in my cabinet and want to take so bad to try and heal this mess but my derm says doxy is a no no on accutane...I am a disgusting mess and just dont know how much more I can take...Ive included some pics and it doesnt nearly cover how many clogs are buldging with white looking heads. There actually too many to count
Hi.
First of all, calm down. You need to be pacient.
I think you should follow a 20mg/40mg daily routine depending of your weight and objective - maintenance or regular treatment.
You must not pick at all on anything from now on, doesn't matter how bad it is. You need discipline!
Try to use only accutane, avoid any other pills, even vitamin.
I was looking around the internet and stumbled on this, that looks very similar to what I had.
The problem is that accutane (at least for me) did not help at all. I was on it for the inflamed acne I had on the time, and it worked for that, however these bumps did not budge infact they probably got worse.
Does anyone know what this is, and how to fix it? External creams seem to irritate them (tried benzol/retin a-micro), and internal medication like accutane/doxycyline that I've tried don't do anything to them.
Please try and appreciate all the things u are healthy with, I guarantee nobody notices this and it is only very upclose that you see this.
Personally I have extremely bad blocked pores with sebum, fortunately these are open (unfortunately for cosmetic reasons, they look horrific) I am beginning a 20mg a day dose this week. I think what you have is excess sebum with closes pore. Please please avoid squeezing as you will be left with very bad pore scars.
I don't see any reason you should t get an improvement with Roaccutane. In the mean time try not focus in with mag lamps but ignore and be positive about Roac working I'm sure in a few weeks this should improve, very best of luck!!
