Death to dermatologists dude.. (yeah, I decoded that)
I've tried the B12 supplement that Chico mentioned...
It's the correct form you mention, in a chewable tablet.
Did nothing.
Sorry.
Exactly what brand and what dosage did you use? Name of supplement, for how long? I think we should exclude things in a scientific way to not jump the gun too quickly. Many supplements do not contain what is printed on them. Ive tried several supplements where one brand does shit nothing, while another brand really hits me. Eventhough they are supposed to contain the same thing.
Hi guys i have taken isotretrinoin on 30 mg a day for about 6 months and ive been off them for about 1 month and 3 weeks now.

Sup man. Sorry to hear about your experience. I and many others have been in the same situation as you, suffering and depressed. But I and others have gotten better.
Now everyone has there own opinion what to do to become healthy again. I will share what has helped me the most over the last 3 years. Again only my opinion.
Cutting out processed sugar and salt, which is in so many foods. They are poison. There is a large amount of people in the world that are addicted to these. Getting them out of the diet and going threw the withdrawals as soon as possible would be best. This alone make you much, much better. If you are already not eating this stuff, great!
Cutting out starch. Poison.
Staying hydrated by drinking lots of water everyday.
Exercise.
Going to sleep on schedule.
Staying positive.
Being in the sunlight.
Basically just learn everything you can about what you put into your body. Like the old saying "you are what you eat." Now that your body is hurt learning what you put into your body is very important so you can eat the right stuff and get back to health.
As for the sexual side effects and thinning hair, it is from Accutane. I had these as well and have fixed both by doing the aforementioned.
Best wishes.
-Connor
Hi, I came across this article today in Natural News, want to make sure everyone on this forum is aware of it.
According to this article, the meats you buy in the grocery store have been injected with artificial food coloring to make them more appealing to consumers.
And who is the proud maker of this artificial pink dye? None other than our arch-nemesis HOFFMAN-LA ROCHE!
BEWARE ALL! Eating meat with Roche's dye chemical could have UNDISCLOSED side effects. I swear they are trying to poison us all.

thanks connor i will try but i just find it so hard because like you said a lot of people feel like their side effects are permenant and it just de motivates me because i always question my self what if i do all this and it doesnt work?
Anyways, i do eat healthy, never eat sweets/chocolate
Il admit i never exercise which could be a problem but never happend years ago?
I can never sleep now i dont know why i usually go to bed about 1 and end up sleeping wen its 5 am . wake up at around 3pm.
I never go out of the house im always inside because im just feeling so down cause of tane
^ i will try to improve all these problems but it just sucks. I dont understand how no one can find proof about accutane causing problems down there
Again, thanks connor and goodluck with your recover, it great to hear your becoming stronger everyday
edit: did you also have yellowing of the skin before? cause i saw your picture on here and your face looked a little yellow.
Well i hope thats got better.
I would also like to hear from stefen aka indigorush ive been watching all your videos and your a great person
The same thing happened to me. I had sexual side effects same as you've described along - this happened back in Dec 2011, Jan 2012 while I was taking 20mg accutane to treat cystic acne. I stopped immediately once I noticed my libido disappearing. I was 29, too young to be experiencing ED.
Since then I've changed my diet completely, almost everything organic now, currently on strict diet avoiding starches and sweets, sodas, etc - sounds very similar to what Connor is doing. I recently completed 13 day water fast and this was definitely an experience! I think this greatly helped with my anxiety and depression - I feel much calmer now and more at peace. Not to mention my skin is perfect like a baby's skin! I just turned 30 but I look like I'm 17 (not joking). The downside is that I did drop about 20lbs. I'm on even stricter diet now, eliminated bread and drinking lots of fresh veggie juices (I have a juicer).
Good news, I think my sexual side effects are slowly improving so must be doing something right. Have nocturnals and mornings now - I didn't previously but they've slowly returned. I even think it's starting to work on its own again. Though I'm still not what I was pre-accutane - I think a full recovery might be possible if I keep on the path I am going. So stay tuned....
I'm going to start exercising now (today actually) because I've read this is beneficial in healing process too.

In my opinion the side effects are not permanent.
Once you try new things and experience positive results, you will become more confident. Then you can roll with the confidence. You have to do something though. Staying inside all day feeling depressed is bad rut to be in. Change it up. Get your blood moving.
My skin was not yellow before Accutane. It is still yellow now. The picture I took was before I made a big change in my diet. I am experiencing good results so far and my skin is becoming very noticeably less yellow.
Peace and thanks.

That is awesome! I am glad you are having success. The more strict the better in my opinion. I stopped eating bread as well a few months ago.
I am feeling the calm and peace too.
I want to do a water fast. You did 13 days. That is impressive.
When you say you dropped 20lbs, it probably is just dead weight. I have lost weight after starting my raw plant diet a few weeks ago. It was bad weight no doubt. Inflamed weight is another term I describe it as. I never recognized it as such though until I realized what it actually was.
And hell yes on the exercise. The diet is one thing, but exercise is what really gets the body working and dispels toxins fast through the pores of the skin. Like that video I made a few posts back. After I was done exercising I sat down and just cried because I felt so good.
Yay!
detox - retox
gallbladder - colon - fat cells
Dear Joseph in what ways exactly has the UDCA helped you out?
Has anybody more than one person here tried the epsom salt olive oil cleanse?
The last time I felt re attacked was when I didn't eat much all day, no fat then gorged on a fatty cheesburger and fries. The next day my knees were hollowed out again and my balls didn't act the same. The first time I was attacked was also when I went from being very skinny, not eating much to eating normal/heavily fatted foods. Seems like maybe the fat shock to the liver/gallbladder is loosening the tane and it's re absorbing into the colon, the colon can't handle it and pushes it to the rest of the body via a leaky gut situation.

Sorry to hear of your experience. Your story is eerily similar to mine. Here are some things to try:
-Consider a colon, liver, kidney, lung, skin, brain detox. I consulted a Naturopath and this is what she recommended. You have to get that poison out of your system so it doesn't do further damage. Detoxing your liver is especially important as this regulates your hormones. This may be rough at first, but long-term will help you feel better and could mitigate additional side effects down the road. There's plenty of books out there that tell you how to do these.
-Find ways to calm down and relax. Be patient. Emotional distress will make you worse. Believe me, I understand stress and suicidal thoughts now, I had them too and it's been a journey trying to overcome them. Exercise and soaking up the sun will help.
Don't assume what you're feeling now is permanent. I've read of other accutane victims your age that have had the same thing happen to them but have completely recovered a few months later. Everyone's story is different and everyone responds differently. If you build up your body's defenses now by proper diet & exercise, antioxidants you have a better chance of coming out of this.
Also, if you go to a doctor just be aware they will likely prescribe you anti-depressants, cialis or viagra - and they'll also deny accutane is the cause. This has been my experience. Due to my lack of a medical degree, I won't discourage these; however I strongly advise you to do your research first on any prescription medicine and their long-term side effects and decide if this is right for you. If I knew what I know today about Accutane, I would've told my dermotologist exactly where he can take that accutane and shove it. What Connor says is true, learn everything you can about what you put into your body.
Good luck man!
There is no cure.
If you've gotten hit hard enough - and Indigo, it's amazing how much you sound like me, truly freaky at times - then your body is permanently altered by accutane.
The only thing that might work - Luck might do it. You could get lucky with some treatment, or have some quirk like 'drink more water and play sports', always my favorite for structureless cures.
Otherwise you should move to Hawaii if you can. Chill. Get out in the sun. Forget about regular life. It's over.
Now that you're different from taking accutane, the question is what are you going to do?
I've been at this for 25 years. Reading you guys trying to be better is like watching a rat running and running in circles, stuck in the cage. And I was there. Sometimes I still am.
I've done everything you guys did long before the internet. Yet everyone seems inclined to go down the same path, always reading about supplements again and again.
It's really surreal to read.
My advice is give up and go somewhere where you have the least concerns possible.
Beach time!
Hey man.
While I can understand why you would be saying this after 25 years, I just cannot stop fighting for my health.
When I read 'Never Fear Cancer Again', I remember being filled with hope.
The author opened the book by talking about how the medical industry nearly killed him.
He developed side effects and poor health because of the medications he was taking.
He had autoimmune disease(s). I remember Sjogrens Syndrome being one of them - I still suspect this one being a problem for me.
It's a really good book and mainly talks about how diet/detoxing/having faith was the answer to his problems.
I don't know about you, but I've never been able to stick to a really healthy diet.
I get tempted in the supermarkets and my Mum fills our cupboards with tasty crap.
I eat a fair amount of fruit/veg/salad, but lately I've been eating a lot of the 'tasty crap' too.
Had a pack of skittles and malteasers yesterday.
Don't know why, because I don't enjoy them like I used too.
Particularly sweets.
I'd much rather have something that tastes good, and is good for me too.
Anyway...
After 25 years, I'm sure it's almost impossible to feel good about your situation, and life in general.
But, this drug has been prescribed to so many people.
I'm absolutely sure that the truth will come out soon (perhaps not too long after the documentary).
When it does, there might be some testing, and perhaps we will find out exactly why we have these side effects.
Personally, I don't think anything is incurable (though I'm not saying we can re-grow limbs or anything).
I think Nature looks after us, and heals us, if we allow it to.
I think we have a lot stacked against us, so it's easy to get stressed and caught up in how bad things are.
But I also believe that stress and tension is what makes us worse, or at least stops us from entering 'healing mode'.
Regardless, we need to be enjoying ourselves now.
I've come to realise that EVERYONE has their own story.
I don't know if anyone ever made it through life without some tough challenges.
For me, technology can really make me feel stressed out.
My girlfriend (yeah, fucking back with her) does my bloody head in a lot of the time.
She texts me far too fucking much, and my phone is a piece of shit, and I really can't be bothered with it.
I feel a lot better when I take a breather in those agitated moments, and just have a walk by myself around the field (without any music too)
I leave my phone at home so I won't get pulled in to arguments/pointless conversations.
Maybe I'm a bit of a loner, but I like being introverted and not having to do anything for anyone else.
It's important to be selfish sometimes.
I say all this shit over and over, but I think it's important to keep our lives running despite our health.
I do worry though.
I feel absolutely shattered every single morning.
Can barely open my eyes and feel worse than before I went to bed.
It's ridiculous.
But, I think partly it's my fault.
I snack at night.
Half ten the other day, I had some Pizza.
Going to bed at 11pm or later probably isn't good.
I think our body appreciates a routine.
10pm every day, with a bit of light reading before hand is probably a very good idea.
I've been having dippy eggs and 'soldiers' (toast cut into strips) for breakfast and they keep me full.
Eggs are great.
Fuck the whole worrying over Vitamin A.
Don't give a shit.
They're healthy, and if it makes me worse, I really couldn't care less right now.
I'm not going to avoid healthy food for the rest of my life.
But yeah, a beach would be rad.
Indigo, nice writing. Lukez, interesting observations. Your beach cure is another piece of the puzzle. ;p

Its horrible how this keeps happening!!! Welcome to our world. There are probably thousands of us suffering in silence, but you can express yourself here and try help find a cure.
You are in the worst period now, it will get alittle better. Do not let them drug you on valium or any of that sort of stuff. I think you would be better of with a real doctor than a psychologist.
Take full bloodscan of minerals, vitamins and hormones. It would be good to do it so soon after to better see what was going on in your body. Som deficiancies can cause long term sideeffects and you might not catch it afterwards as your BLOODlevels are up but you still feel shitty(nutrients depleted from spinalfluid, and flesh).
There is a logical explanation of why this is happening to you, and sooner or later we will find out exactly why and how mend it. If your doctor gives up on you that fast after a chemo therapy drug, stating it is mental, he does not know shit about what he is doing. He should read some science about the drug not written by the sellers or producers.
Edit: Also if i were 2 yers back, and in your possition again, i would get my hands on some high quality b-12(highly preferably the methylcobalamin sort) and folate supplements, and take them by 10x daily recommended dosage ASAP. Not much research exist on how to cure iso sideeffects, but several research articles, and most of them very new, suggest b12 and folate lowering could be a missing link. Everyone gets lowered levels on the shit, if u were low but ok before u might be bad now. Bloodtests are not accurate, especially those done by most general practitionairs, u could have severe sideeffects of deficiancy eventhough your doc thinks the levels are normal.

That's the one I've used.
Its the correct stuff, but not that strong i think. How many did you take a day?, and for how long? did you take folate at the same time?
Therapautical dosages ive read about are many times this dosage, a random health site on google states 9000mcg is the average an affected person needs as a therapeutical dosage, many needs even higher dosages. [Edited link out]
eidt: superdupermega therapeutical dosages tested on rats in 500mcg pr kg body weight shows significant results in rats given nerve damage.
Been a bit inconsistent to be honest, but probably took a three week dose of 1000mcg (1 a day, like it says).
I just would have expected at least SOME noticeable benefits, but didn't.
[Edited link out]
They have a stronger dose though, so I guess my experience doesn't write it off as a possible helper
I ended up ordering Iosol, Tyrosine and some others the other day.
Hoping I can get my thyroid under control.
Picked up a book from Amazon (secondhand, so cheap) called 'Alternative Cures' (It's written by Bill Gottlieb) and it seems pretty good.
For the thyroid its tips are:
- Do energy exercises. (Not so sure about this myself) You lie flat on a comfortable surface (bed) and gently massage your upper abdominal area (diaphragm) for a minute or so. You then put one hand over your throat and as you exhale, start to make a sound (any sound). While doing this, you are to imagine the sound is coming directly out of your thyroid gland. It says to do this for 5 - 10 minutes a day. The reason is because many people with hypothyroidism often suppress their speech and natural expressiveness, fearing what others might think about them. (This rings true for me).
- Catch Sunlight in the morning. In the morning, we should go outside and look toward the Sun (not directly at it). Light stimulates the pineal gland (the endocrine gland in the center of your brain) which positively affects the thyroid and other endocrine glands. The recommendation is to go outside within the first hour of Sunrise and look toward the Sun for 10 minutes. It won't work through a window, or with sunglasses, because the light has to directly enter your eyes.
- Food: Choose organic or free-range to avoid synthetic hormones (in eggs, dairy - if you have it - and meat)
- Tyrosine: This amino acid combines with iodine to make thyroxine (one of the thyroid hormones). 500-1000mg is the recommendation. It's important to eat protein while taking this, as apparently large doses on it's own can cause side effects.
- Fatty Acids: These are involved in the production of Thyroid hormones. Flaxseed oil or fish oil is recommended (3000-6000mg a day).
That's it.
Some new suggestions to try there..
Also, here's the recommendation for (adrenal) burnout...
- Food: Stay off the blood sugar rollercoaster. High carb's (aside from fruit and veg) are the worst offenders. Sugar, starch and the rest should be avoided. Protein is recommended because it's slow burning, as well as healthy fats.
- Rest. It recommends regular meditation and deep breathing. (I think this is a KEY for all of us... Even reading stuff about Accutane can cause extreme stress over long periods of time)
- Exercise. Walking is recommended.
- Aromatherapy, such as lavender oil or vanilla. Just to sniff every now and then...
- Rituals, such as a hot bath and reading before bed.
That's all.
Hope this helps.
I agree Indigo, i'd just like to add modifilan can balance the thyroid, as can juicing any fresh seaweed (dulse, wakame, kelp, sea spaghetti) with a twin gear or masculating juicer. Virgin coconut oil is excellent for the thyroid and stay away from processed foods, specifically soy. One step above organic dairy is raw dairy. Include lots of trace minerals in your food, seaweed and celtic / himilayan sea salt. As indigo said stay away from high sugar and get as much sunlight as possible. D3 is essential to thyroid function. Selenium helps as well.
In relation to accutane i'm sure it affects T3 the most. Thats not terminator 3 by the way it's triiodothyronine.
Thank you so much guys for ur feedback to my post your all such nice people. too bad theres hardly good ppl in this world. I want to get real blood tests to check for hormones and stuff but my last bloodtest which i had showed that i was all good and this was on the sixth month. I have told the doctor that im sure this drug caused it but he thinks that its all stress and depression which really PISSES me off.
For now since i only have two side effects which is problems with sexual sensation and hair loss.
I guess the hairloss could be from the dry skin as accutane shrinks oil glands?
il have to see how my sensation is and i will try my hardest to battle depression and go through phychology therapy and see if that helps. if i still have these problems after then il defently know something is wrong and thats when i can probably start having tests.
I wish you all luck in your recoveries and again thank you for taking your time to read my post.

First of all don't take the drug again, stay away from accutane / roaccutane. Secondly if you haven't got a family history of hereditary hairloss starting in your teens....understand that it was the accutane that caused your hair to fall out. Also understand that the drug does cause sexual side effects and can cause testicular vericoele, impotence and painful sensations during sex. With CBT they might tell you that stress is the cause of your hairloss, and that the sexual side of things is just a mental problem. Just know that your not alone and there are many others that have had the same things happen to them after taking accutane as you have now.
Watching the hillsborough documents being released today brought a tear to my eyes, justice will prevail in the end, too many people have died or had there lives altered by this drug, we will fight this injustice and make sure all those years of suffering will be vindicated in the end. There is a cover up on a wide scale in relation to accutane, there has been several investigations made in an attempt to ban the drug. They have paid millions in lawsuits to the affected familes and petitions have been campaigned online for its out right ban for years. Finally banned in the US in 2009.........i pray one day accutane will rightfully be regarded as this generations thalidomide. A generation of teenagers who had their lives ruined because of the incompetence and criminal negligence of their own doctors. Eventually we will have our justice

I wish they'd ban generic accutane in the U.S. --- which dermotologists continue to hand out like candy to teenagers. Our woes are far from over this side of the pond.

exactly, then they go and approve a new version of Accutane by yet another company this year. The horror story never ends.
By the way I take 500 mg of B12 and it has done wonders and yes I was close to defcient and my Rhuem suggested it. You also need folate and Vit c for it to process. - Hope all is well and to seeing some new suffers to the thread...Hang in there everyone.

Did the doctor actually show you or send the bloodwork? If you have the values you can post them. What the doctors think is ok, might not be, and maybe we could point it out and see similarities you then could report back to the doctor or a better doctor. Its also nice to have all the bloodwork to investigate how different values has changed through the course of the poisoning. The bloodwork can show a trend, but not neccesarily how deficient you are, and you might be very deficient eventhough serum levels are fine. Its better to look at a series of tests than one.
Its also very important that you relax for a while and let the body recover whatever it can. I kept pushing myself after it, trying to continue my very hectic lifestyle thinking my body would recover by itself like it had always done the first 23 years of my life. (never had any medicine or gone to doc before this shit). After a couple of months i was totaly worned out and had to get sick leave and stop all projects at home also. Relax right away and avoid that.
It is really safe to say that you should supplement b12 and folate no matter what your doc says, as all research show decreased levels in everyone that took it.
Also if you have a national organization that collects sideeffect reports it is very important that you report to them, your doctor will probably not do it eventhough it is his duty.

- Hope all is well and [Edited image out]to seeing some new suffers to the thread...Hang in there everyone.
If you are taking 500mg i bet it is of the cyano type? As 500mg equals to 500 000mcg, and that would be highly expensive on the higher quality stuff. I know i really am talking a lot about the methyl type(without really having tried it jet), but ive read so much about it, feels like i should share that it is much higher qulity than the stuff usually found in supplements. I hope this weekend ill get time to drive to sweden and get me some.
edit: If what you are taking also is the methyl kind, it is 500 times the strength of the brand and type that indigo tried

I will have to check to see what I got! I know I order a certian kind over line for b1 as you can't get the fat souble kind over counter and for it is good for the type 1 diabetes and nerves that were effected by accutane. I'll have to try the methyl type if I didn't get that b12 that is - Jen
