For those of you with joint pain and severe dryness try bone broth soup it helps.
I'm hearing good things about it. Ima have to try it. What bones you use? Beef?
i use beef. chicken is the best though in terms of taste in my opinion. hard to find a ton of cheap pastured chicken bones though. you're very wise to always have a batch prepared. the stuff is amazing for your gut. basic ingredients for taste: celery, carrots, and onions
add a little apple cider vinegar (like a tsp) or some type of acid so the bones can degrade. the broth should be gelatinous after it cools in the fridge. if it's not, you added too little bones
I'm really pissed off that I have this horrible skin disease because of my shitty genetics and can't do anything about it. My derm said that Accutane is completely safe and not to believe people online but I don't believe him, especially after reading this thread.
you don't have a skin disease. you're toxic. something you are eating or exposing yourself to in your environment is causing your issues
no amount of acne can ever be as bad as what accutane can do to you. read through the thread for a few days before deciding to go on it. ruined my life. i'm 20
Forget all derm and doctors. It is a waste of money and time. I haven't found any doctor tho knows about accutane side effects.
This and similar forum topic is our only hope to come back to normal life.
How come the average person doesn't have acne and many of them eat nothing but shit foods?
actually most people do have acne nowadays. acne used to not even exist. it was the modern diet that brought rise to it. that and toxicity. derms will tell you otherwise because they are influenced by big pharma. if they told everyone to cure their acne with diet change (from the inside), how would they make money?

Is there any warning whatsoever in the drug information stating that Accutane/Isotretinoin side effects may continue after stopping Accutane?
Someone please answer. This may open some new avenues.
In the German version of the drug information was a sentance like "the side effects will in most cases disappear after stopping Accutane". This means in some cases they can persist.

There are people that have tried diet changes for years and don't see effects on their acne. It's not proven to be the reason for acne (paleo diet did nothing for me). I also hardly see any people on a daily basis with acne, especially cystic acne.
i'm not saying it's the only reason. there could be hundreds of reasons why someone might have acne. all of these reasons are from the exposome. (heavy metals built up in the system, biotoxins, allergens in you house, what your mom ate before and during pregnancy, gut infections etc etc etc...) sure, you could have permanent genetic changes that, say, make you a poor methylator but that can be helped environmentally without having to poison yourself. i'm done arguing about this

i wish! if someone can confirm this exists i'd also greatly appreciate it
Hi, I'm new here.
I'm going to be working through this thread, but there's a lot to go over! So in the meantime I'm making this post in hopes of some guidance.
Without trying to make this too long here's what I've been dealing with.
I developed joint problems in my spine while taking accutane 7 yrs ago (when I was 20 yrs old). My spine has been incredibly stiff ever since and no Dr has been able to provide me with any answers. I've had MRI's and blood tests, I don't have arthritis. My best guess is that since Accutane dries you out I must have maybe I have some sort of lubrication issue? Not sure if that makes any sense though.
I just started looking into all this, but it seems like there are people on this forum who probably have some good suggestions for what to do to help relieve joint stiffness. Any recommendations are welcome!
-Thanks, Mike.
Has here been any talk about Sjogren's syndrome? Just heard about it and it fits to some of mine and others symptoms.
If there's money involved believe nothing of what they tell you, as the saying goes. There's just as many naturalists who have something to sell and out to scam you. One must rely on solid evidence.
Hypothalamus dysfunction. Hypothalamus helps control the pituitary gland. Look into symptoms of hypothalamus dysfunction. We know it affects hypothalamus-hormones are not being produced.
I totally agree with the above statement. Who would you see though about this, an Endocrinologist perhaps?? ( haven't we all been there though?) My major sensitivity to sunlight and tiredness throughout the day coupled with the pressure in my head makes me think there's some sort of hypothalamus issue going on?
On another topic to do with dryness of the entire body and how to combat this, what are the suggestions thus far:
1. Baxyl
2. Bone broth
3. Cod liver oil ( Vit A ) Do we avoid it or try to get more....lately too many conflicting reports on this matter!!?
4. Flaxseed oil
5. Fish oil ( Vit A )
6. Drink plenty of water
There's more but I can't remember. I'm not suggesting you would take all at once - I've been down that path of "oversupplementing"
Combating the dryness is of course dependant on what you avoid also, i.e limit alcohol, watch salt intake and prob avoid milk and dairy?
I've come to the conclusion that you can eat healthily, supplement and detoxify all you want after Accutane.......that's all well and good
but our oil production and moisture throughout the body is altered.....I'm dry as all hell and have been this way for over 15 years.
Wish i knew how to fix it??
sensitivity to sunlight and tiredness throughout the day coupled with the pressure in my head
Sounds familiar. I often get these headaches, but they're not normal headaches. It feels more like pressure in my head, like you described it and it's not the whole head, it's the front of the brain. Is it same for you? I usually get it in school in afternoon or when I try to do something which requires complex thinking. I've thought it has something to do with dryness or depression/anxiety.
Pressure on the front of the head is a side effect of Accutane , I remember when I first took it some 20 plus years ago after a month on it I was dizzy for a few weeks and had massive hair loss YES indeed. Symptom management is were it's at . Retinol and vit A should be limited were are hypersensitive to these. Ask an honest derm and he will tell you Accutane is a controlled POISONING those are the facts.

But the question remains why so many people, who take accutane have no or no severe long term side effects. More than 16 million people worldwide have been prescribed Accutane since it was introduced to the market 30 years ago. If all of them would have been poisoned, this forum thread should flow over. But only for a relatively small amount of people it seems to be such a drastic experience on the long term.
I got my worst symptoms with fish oil ( vitamin A free retinol) , vitamin A ( nettle tea ) ingestion coupled with beer also rubbing witch hazel on my chest for mild acne you figure it out , eliminating these things has brought me back to 90 percent recovery , although I still suffer from fatique and brain fog I consider those mild side effects considering the b.s I have been through .

Accutane= chemical lobotomy

Yeah, It's definately different to a normal headache - like you say more front of brain and for me near temple region. Feels like my head is also heavy with a stressed out dry feeling..... I wonder if its brain damage or nerve damage? I suspect it's both.
I get dizzy like some of you too and lately I get nauseous in the afternoon - find it hard to focus and concentrate that's for sure.....at times it's like i'm fuckn
drunk and off balance...... as you might imagine, that works really well for me when i'm in sales meeting etc. Did Hitler invent this drug or something? It's ruining peoples lives.
Chemical castration is right - why can't we repair it though, it's just beyond me that nothing works in trying to fix our problems........what a life this is.
Hey guys, im really crying out for some help at the moment, if anyone has words of wisdom or advice that would be awesome!
im currently on a second course of accutane, first one 12 months at 20mg/day. now im 4 months in on 20mg/day
for the past 3 weeks, my vision is covered in this static, ive got tinnitus, brain feels foggy, and ive got heaps of floaters and visual disturbances.. i stopped accutane for 7 days last week to see if that would help, and all that happened is i broke out so bad.. my face went from being 100% clear to covered in angry pimples, my cheeks are raw red.
has anyone had these sort of side effects from accutane? should i stop taking it?
I noticed these symtoms roughly 2 weeks after using a heavy amount of MDMA stupidly.. but im not sure if its brain damage from MDMA or accutane?!!?

I have all of these side effects as well. What I've read can cure these side effects are several long water fasts, which I am currently trying to undertake as well. You may not get immediate relief but I believe that with time and patience fasting can repair almost anything. I would also try meditating, if i were you, to help you get through the initial grief process and to keep your resilience strong. You're going to need it.
