For my first month of accutane I was prescribed one pill per day with food. I experienced normal symptoms, but nothing to the extreme. (chapped lips was really the only thing that happened)
For month two my dermo prescribed me two pills per day. One at morning and one at night. I just started doing this two days ago.
I am very sick right now with a sore throat and some stomach pains, but I believe those are due to other things, not the accutane.
Yesterday though...I started to experience very severe itching all over. Mainly on my feet and hands and legs and arms. It's even worse tonight. I'm writing this post at 3 in the morning because the itching is so bad I CANNOT SLEEP.
I scratch as much as I want, and no bumps really appear. I don't know how this happened but I am in a living hell right now with this scratching. It's horrible and very scary. I'm almost tempted to get off the accutane...I already decided to stay on one pill per day since I was already told my cholesterol keeps inching up.
If anyone has any solutions or advice, please help.
Do you moisturize your whole body twice a day? if its not a dryness problem then stop taking the pills and call your derm.
Okay. Well, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to check out my other symptoms and then ask about my itching. My derm's office is only open on Wednesdays so we're going to call then.
Still, I've been putting on more moisturizer and it's helping. The itching doesn't completely go away which sucks.
Can anyone recommend a good lotion for the itching? I've been using eucerin and cocoa butter vaseline lotion.
I've also taken a break from the pill for Friday and today. Since my cold has gotten much better, I think I'll start back to the one pill tomorrow.
THe same things is happening to me! It's pretty widespread all over my body. On a scale of 1 to 10 its easily a 10. The most I can manage is a few hours of sleep per night. I went off the accutane for about a week and no improvement. I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could give an update as to your current status. I'm miserable right now.
