I took mild acne for accutane. Should mild acne be treating with the same dosages and durations as severe acne? Let's form a big discussion here and start seeing how much accutane derms are giving us mild acne sufferers? Because from what i've heard, accutane is not to successful at curing mild acne. So people on accutane for mild acne.....

1)explain the type of mild acne you have

2) how long have you been dealing with acne?

3) have topicals and antibiotics helped over the years?

4) are there times when you are completely clear?

5) Is your skin oily?

and lastly if you are starting to treat your mild acne with accutane

6) what is your weight and dosage?

why wouldn't accutane be successful at clearing mild acne? it still works the same way on your oil glands? Or are you saying that derms prescribe too low of a dosage to help, when dealing with mild acne?

i have mild acne. there are times when i dont have acne at all. ive been on every topical out there and many different oral options. ive been on accutane before and had the best skin ever. little bumps starting showing back up 3 weeks after i was off 5 months of 60 mg accutane. back to mild/moderate acne and this happened about 4 months after being off of it and im on bcp now. want to get back on it, but idk if its going to make any difference...

oh and ive officially been off of it for 1 year and 3 months

....i have very oily skin. no oil when i was on accutane. full blown oiliness back though...actually not quite as bad. i have had acne since i was 10. 135 pounds

Sounds like you are considering sueing the derm whom prescribed accutane to you base on what you are doing now. I could be wrong though.

When u say your acne is mild, please explain. do you get whiteheads and blackheads..or cysts? I really think that another course of accutane would completely put your acne in remission.

I have mild acne, mostly white heads, some black heads on my nose and very oily skin! My derm put me on 60 mg of accutane a day and I am 110 lbs. I'm 21 and I had very clear skin up until I was 20, so I've been dealing with this for a little over 1 year. I'm on day 18 of accutane and haven't had any major side affects; just some super dry lips! Does anyone know about when my skin will start to really clear up if you've been on accutane with mild acne?

Thanks!
