I've been on accutane for about 3 months now (first month 40 mg and the next two months 60 mg). It was rough for about the first 3 weeks, but I have to now say that accutane truly is God's gift to those with less perfect skin. I'm just hoping that I'm one of the lucky ones where they don't need a second round of treatment.
Anyway, I have a very very odd question. Does anyone here who have taken accutane also suffer from tonsil stones? It might be pure coincidence, but I've noticed that I'm getting these tonsil stones quite frequently these days. I don't know if accutane is a direct cause of these tonsil stones or if it's cause I'm just so tired these days from the accutane and perhaps my immune system is more susceptible or whatnot.
Anyway, thought if I were just a freak, or if other people suffered from these too.
Thanks.
are you talking about those little white things that you can see if you open your mouth? and are attached to your tonsils?
I haven't had any while on accutane. BUT i have had them before in my life. I went to the doctor for it before and he said its food buildup that gets caught in the crevasses of the tonsil
You're probably not checking this anymore, but I would love to know; did the tonsiliths (hard little pus nodules) continue for the rest of your treatment? And afterwards? And did you have to get a second treatment?
I am on Isotretonin right now (in month x2) and I have definitely noticed an increase in these. I thought maybe it was from my work being so cold (I work in a hospital, nose always running at work) or even from singing (I'm in a band) but I only had them once before in my life (despite having been in a band and worked in a hospital for x2 years) so it's pretty weird that it would just be a coincidence that after I start a new medication, I suddenly start getting these. It's probably been about x1 every x2-3 weeks but I just had a really large one come up and I really don't want to have to deal with this all my life.
Any information would be super helpful!!
