Hi, i'm new to the forum so sorry for picking your brains before introducing myself.

I'm halfway through month 3 of accutane, I have had no problems except for dry skin and eyes, and finding exercise very difficult, but this last week or so I have started to feel queezy and very bloated, I also feel like I have put a lot of weight on despite not changing my diet.

I just wanted to see if this was connected to the accutane, or I am one of those sleep-walking cake scoffers!

Hi looby-loo and welcome to the site! Ive been on accutane for about 7 weeks and ive started to see similar sympton as you! Ive been feeling a liitle sick and I feel bloated, this might not have anything to do with the tane though, sometimes that just happens, I think you are hypersensitive when taking such a strong drug!

I woudnt worry about it though but if it continues might be worth talking to your derm, good luck!

Hey there, deffinatly keep your doc informed of your concerns. I think though if theres no conciderable pain you'll be ok. BUt totaly keep tabs on it. Keep a journal on your symptoms and their changes.

Im 3 going on 4 months in and I have felt something like bloating on my right side round where my liver is. Since what I have read about the side effects of accutane and its effect on the liver I scaired my self undully. In fact my triglyceride count actually dropped and it actually turned out to be my bowels that were making that pressure. Unrealated to the accutane treatment. I've not experienced any queezyness though... I have gained a lil weight but Im sure thats due to my relative inactivity since starting.

So it could be anything so let your doctor make the call.

Good luck!!

Thankyou for your replies callmejoe and flanders, that is really helpful, I hadn't thought about the liver problem but my blood tests so far have come back perfect, it is a worry because I don't have to have another test for the last month so I will mention it next week at the derm. And I can imagine it may be hypersensitivity to a strong drug on my stomach.

Again, thanks, it's good to know that i'm normal :D And good luck to you both.

Hey,

So I have been off of accutane for 8 months now. Right before I took my last pill (month 6) I started feeling bloated, stomach pains on my right ride, lower back pains when I went to bed, weight gain (despite no change in diet and I exercise a lot), and a lot of gas :/ I went to my doctor, and she said what I was going through was normal (for all people not just accutane users). I listened to her and didn't do anything about it. 8 months later, things have been a lot worse so I went to a different doctor who told me once again what I was going through was normal, but I know my body better than any doctors and what I am going through is not normal. Tomorrow, I will be going in for an ultra sound to see what's going on in my stomach... no I'm not pregnant cuz I have never had sex. Hope none of you have to go through this, but if you are, check it out!

Hey Sunrays,

i'm having similar symptoms. Wanted to find out from you if you ever were able to determine what was causing your stomach pains and bloating?

looby-loo, I am curious about what you mean by "finding exercise very difficult" because of Accutane.

I am about to start working out again (and I am currently on Accutane) so I wanted to double check what your experience was. What made it difficult?

I also have found exercise very difficult, and have stopped. My body hurts incredibly bad for a few days after. Joint pain is a common side effect.

Bloated-- and not happy.

Hey there...I'm 19, female, and I run about 3 miles a day plus a light bike or walking to and from classes. I haven't changed my diet, eat pretty healthily (sorry if that's not a word/spelled incorrectly) and I've been noticing the SAME things...I feel nauseated when I get up some mornings and have felt chronically bloated for a little over a week (I'm in the beginning of month 3 of the Amnesteem brand). And all of a sudden I'm getting a weird dry skin rash on my hands.

I'm most concerned about the bloating though...it almost feels like menstrual bloat? But all the time, even when I haven't eaten overnight...

Has anyone else had these symptoms? Does the bloat go away? Help!

Thanks..

I'm only on the third week of accutane and have been experiencing some gnar bloating; gonna keep an eye on it, but just wondering if anybody has anything more to say on it? Particularly if you experienced it and it went away or not?

I'm hoping that the fact that none of you previous posters returned means that the issue went away...?
