I finally went on Accutane for my mild acne, oily skin and bad blackheads and clogged pores that were taking over and scaring and ruining my skin.

I am on Accutane 40mg at the 2 month mark but am due for a revistion nose job. The first one did not do what I wanted so the doctor is going to perform a revisition open nose job this time.

I have scars form the first one were my nostrils were narrowed and now there will be a scar underneath the middle of my nose. I am not sure if I should wait until I am off Accutane which won't be for another 3 months or I should even wait 6 months after that or is it safe to have trhe se=urgery now.

I am afraid of really bad scaring because my skin won't heal well while on the Accutane. I picked some pimples while on tane and they are taking forever to heal and I am concerned the incisions from the surgery will do the same.

Does anyone have experience with this?? I would really apprieciate what you think about this. I really want to do my noses because I have been waitng to finally have it done right but don't want to make myself look worse because of my impatience.

Thanks for your help and this Board Rocks. I am so glad I found it I am like addicted to it!!! LOL

Absolutely NOT. And wait at least one whole year after you take your last pill before you even consider any type of invasive cosmetic procedure.

I had emergency knee surgery; had to stop Accutane and could not restart it because of the surgery. Well. Healing took many many months and I had to wear a knee immobilizer for 3 whole freaking months. Even now I have pain (11 years later).

Do not risk it. Very very unwise.

I would recommend to wait atleast a month AFTER your course of accutane.

Sh*t, that is what I was afraid of. I sooooooooooo want my nose revision done but I will have to wait. I also started having fat grafts taken out before starting Accutane and I guess I am going to have to wait to continue with that.. Well at least my skin will look good. I had to start doing something because the longer I waited the more blackheads were taking over and leaving big enlarged pores from me picking. If I could stop alll that I guess the nose and cheeks can wait. I am going to be HOT one day it is only going to take until I am 80 though LOL. I am going to be the hottest 80 year old around!!!!!

Wait at least a year after your last pill, particularly for something as poor healing as nose job revision. Lots of cartilage there, poor blood supply. High risk.

I always visit a good Doctor for any medical advise about medicine even though i do check the reviews

For Nose surgery I would always go to a reputed surgeon . One of the place which I know is SpaMedica for {LINK REMOVED}.

For real? I thought everyone knew u don't heal nearly as good on accutane. No doctor would do that surgery until six months post accutane. I had some scars excised almost six months to the day of my last accutane pill. Excisions healed super good btw.
