TBH sw, i think he only said that because of the list of other problems he had just told me i had... he didn't want to overload me in one session e.g. me leaving feeling completely morbid, he may well of told me that in the hope that it would resolve itself over the next few months...

Mikey... there isn't much we can do to try and help our immune systems... just try and eat healthily, get plenty of rest and get some exercise if you can. I don't believe anything other than systemic steroids will be able to relieve me of my symptoms...

Very interesting study I just found - background here - Keratase has a new vitamin they recently started selling in the US called Densitive (formerly known as Innovex in other countries) - the main ingredient is taurine. I just came across a study showing that taurine can decrease vitamin A toxicity....hmmmm.

[Edited link out]

I've only been taking Densitive for 20 days now, but thought you all would be interested in seeing this. I'm still shedding like crazy. It will be 7 months on Dec. 16th.

Lamar - how much taurine do you take on a daily basis?

BTW- I don't know if you all noticed this, but this study is actually from the January 2008 publication - great news is that it is VERY recent.

We will find a solution to this mess.

Yeah maybe, but it isn't as simple as vitamin A excess, sure isotretinoin is similar, but it has been altered from anything our bodies normally would encounter and actually binds to a number of cells throughout the body for about 9 years... things can work to remove fat souluble vitamin A, but they may well not work with isotretinoin as it's structure is different...

Bit of an update, my face is looking a complete mess now it is like im living in a nightmare, i posted some pictures in the scar section a few months back showing these linear scars, well since then it has become alot worse, my left cheek is almost caveing in... really sucks arse and i am so distraught i no longer know what to do....

P.s. 2-3 grams daily of taurine....

20th of this month and i will be asking whether he thinks it would be a good idea to use a systemic steroid on me... At the very least i will be wanting a topical hair solution and if that works i will again try and persuade him to use a systemic steroid and if he still doesn't want to give me one i will probably get my grandad to administer one. I am very confident all my problems are related to my immune system... always have known that!!

Everything seems to cycle, every 3-4 weeks i will get a load of mouth ulcers, my flushign gets worse and i often get these scars form at the same time... my hairloss even speeds up during the times of a 'flare'...

it's interesting. in that other hair loss topic blaze said his hair loss has been slowing down with his use of lidex. really intriguing and i think he could be onto something.

I want to be super-careful when I say this, but I think that at least 50% of my hair has grown back. It's just not as thin as it used to be. When I part my hair, the part is far less exaggerated than before.

That said, I'd like to get the other 50% back.

I'm at month 11, by the way. 11 months since I lost the hair. I'm giving this until 15 months. I have to admit, I hate the hair loss and I still obsess about it, but I deal with it better, and I feel like I can do 4 months standing on my head.

Dude i'm telling you, propecia is not what you need... and Testosterone acts as an anti inflamatory....

I really do not think mpb has anything to do with this any more, not even in the slightest.... it can present itself just like mpb to other people though.

I honestly believe diffuse AA is the answer for us....

I unfortunately do not work out. I've been planning to, and used to, but haven't recently. I don't think working out would cause hair loss, as you're implying, though.

OK. So, again, I want to be careful, but I have been, or at least I think I have been, noticing my hair feeling thicker over the last few months. So this morning, I did the unthinkable. I tried spiking my hair (not that I ever, or would ever, wear my hair spiked).

Since this all happened, spiking my hair would reveal horrible diffuse hair loss. But this morning, my hair looked almost all filled in. It looks like I got 70% of my hair back, so far.

Here's my concern: is that due to the Propecia that I've been taking for three months? Or is it just coming back on its own?

But I have more hope now. This is weird. Again, I'm at 11 months post-hair loss.

Any thoughts, guys?

I think your hair is recovering on it's own Andy, you had a cease in hair shedding pretty early on i believe... which has waxed and wayned but i think it will eventually tapper off...I don't think the propecia will of done much unless you believe you had some thinning going on before tane, in which case it's a different story...

As i have said before i speak to blazed through pm's. His derm believes most if not all of accutane hairloss is a form of diffused AA, i now agree with this... and obviously diffuse AA will in most cases take longer to recover.

So far i believe the only person in this thread to suffer from a proper case of TE is Dolph....
