I've been on Diane 35 for a bit over a year now and for the past month I've been experiecing massive shedding/thinning. I have been to a dermatologist who took some blood tests to check for hormone issues, but i won't get those results for a MONTH. I'm wondering if this is at all related to the Diane.

 

Anyone care to share any similar stories with me?

However, I have younger friends who have been on the pill for a good 5 or so years now and they are yet to experience anything similar to what you speak of

Diane 35 is supposed to thicken and grow hair.... not make you loose it!

They actually use this birth control for women with thinning or balding hair as a treatment....

when you go off it does the hair loss come back?? seriously freaking out over here... wishing i never went on this pill

I'm experiencing the same thing only I wasn't on Diane 35. I was experimenting with birth control pills trying to find the "magic pill"; one that helps with acne and doesn't have side effects. I tried three different pills in about a two year period and finally stopped taking them all together about 5 months ago because that "magic pill" doesn't exist (for me at least).

Since that time I've noticed drastic shedding and thinning of my hair. I've probably lost about 30% or more of my thickness and it's really noticable on my right temple...hardly any hair. What's more scary is that I don't see any regrowth happening.

I'm seeing my gyno and she is testing my hormones...I have to wait another week though because it has to be done on my 3rd day of menstration. She already said that it looks like she will put me on spiro...I hope it doesn't make me sick with side effects.

I head accutane makes you loose hair.

Not necessarily true. As with ANY birth control you never know how it will affect individuals and for some women it does cause hair thinning.

Any update? I™m planning to be on diane 35 this year and i™m so scared of hair loss as a side effect. I have experniced hairshedding with accutane......  and I left with no other choices  hope it goes well cuz I™ve been so depressed
