Hi there, i need some advice regarding my acne problem on my face. As you can see i'm suffering with cystic acne around my ear and jawline. Even though i have been using benzoyl peroxide 5% i am still having acne breaking out every 2 weeks. And on top of that , my skin its always dry around my T-zone (Cheek mainly , abit on the forehead) whenever right after i took a shower regardless cold shower or hot shower. My cheek area definitely will start peeling . And also my face it always red, even after i apply moisturizer. ( Photo taken after apply moisturizer) The moisturizer i am using is water base Hyaluronic Acid (Hada Lobo). I cant use lotion base, i start having more breakout.
Can anyone have some advice or help tips on how can i solve this issue? as well as how to get rid of those dark mark around my face? Thank you
Have you taken antibiotics recently " Do you have dandruff ? Do you have a white tongue? If you answer yes to one or more of these questions then get back to me. You probably have candida (indicated by white tongue, red rashes, "acne" like skin, and sometimes by headaches and tiredness) or malasezzia (indicated by dandruff , flaking/peeling skin and "acne" like symptoms).
Malasezzia and candida are fungus. Outbreaks of candida and malasezia are caused by taking antibiotics. Don't use moisturiser on areas affected by candida or malasezia as both fungi "love" moisture and malasezzia feeds on the organic oils in moistusers.
I can provide information about how to control skin candida and skin malasezzia with topical antifungal creams. What country are you in ?

Really appreciate it.Yeah i do have suffered from dandruff for almost 10 years now, i think its call seborrheic dermatitis based on the symptom i am having where the area on face its always red. I'm not sure what ismalasezzia thought.And i'm using shampoo which containciclopirox olamine , once a week or lesser depend on the the severity. And formoisturiser, i am using the brand Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion. I'm from Malaysia..
Seborhheic dermatitis is caused by malasezzia fungus. Continue to use anti-dandruff shampoo. AND - Buy some terbenafine cream (lamisil or similar) and apply that to the affected areas of your face and any other affected areas. The terbenafine cream should control the malasezzia (seborhheic dermatitis plus the cystic acne etc).

Do NOT use any moisuriser on your skin. The organic oils in moisturisers feed malasezzia. Keep your skin very dry.

I am assuming that you can buy terbenafine cream over the counter in Malaysia. I think you can - see links above.
Get back to me, if you wish, after using the terbenafine cream for a week or so. There are alternatives if the terbenafine cream does not control the cystic acne, etc. but I think it will. I would wash your hair every day in anti-dandruff shampoo (which is anti-fungal).
