Hi!

I am a woman, aged 25 years old. I have acne since I am 12 years old and it is really bothering me. I took contraceptive pills (Linessa then Diane-35, then 1 Micronor) from 17 to 22 years old and it really helps my acne. I changed for Diane 35 because I had migraine and I wanted better results for my acne. But Diane-35 and Micronor made my period uneven and painfull. Diane 35 did helps my acne, but gave me yeast infection. Micronor worsen a lot my acne; I started to have cystic acne that last long after I stoped taking Micronor. At the end, my doctor saw that I could never take any contraceptive pills because it is now dangerous for me (blood clots, migraine, etc).

My acne is not bad enough to take Accutane and I took 4 times oral antibiotics, which helps a little only. I had retina cream, benzoyl cream, antibiotic cream but is so not effective or my skin gets to dry (maybe I don't try them long enough?)

I am pretty sure that the roots of my acne is my hormones, but since I can't take contraceptive pills anymore, what I can take? Can I take spironolactone? Something else? Have you been in my situation or do you have advices?

Thanks! :)
