Hello dear acne sufferers,
I'm a 24 year old female and from germany (excuse me if i make mistakes, i'm not the best, i know that )
I suffer from acne 4 years now- i figured out that my acne is hormonal and stubborn as i get these huge cysts around my mouth and chin every ones in a while. Other than that my skin is pretty clear. My question now: i think that spironolactone could be a solution for me ( i tried out nearly every cream- epiduo wasn't that bad) Unfortunately you can't get spironolactone in germany for acne. Do you think it is possible to see a dermatologist in london for example, who prescribe spironolactone get it there and than order it from germany for the long-term treatment anyhow?
Thanks for the answers and keep your head up everyone! xx
I went of birth control 2 years ago, i suffered from really bad headaches! I'm not sure if i want to get back on it, but if thats necessary to clear my acne...! Can you take spiro for long-term? My hormonal imbalance will still be there after i stop taking the pills, and the acne will come back right?

You can take Spiro for years, the doctors do blood tests to make sure ypu don't have excess potassium which is a rare possible side effect. Many people take it for high blood pressure for years so its relatively safe.
That's a good question...sadly most pills/ creams/ hormonal supplements don't fix your problem for good. The acne returns if you stop the meds unless maybe you outgrow it in your adult years.
There is something called bioidentical hormones which some people claim is more of a fix but most people who claim to "fix" hormones do it through diet or nutritional supplements.
