Guys if you are facing same issue please consider trying BP 2.5% or azelaic acid 15% or sulfur based cream(azelaic acid and sulfur didn't work for my skin) and try to avoid using antibiotics this will makes things worst.
I also drink one glass of lemon juice(only salt no sugar) to empty stomach in morning . As @troubled_T_TMentioned I don't have to control my diet and lack of sleep also didn't cause any breakout for me so far but still I try to keep hold of my diet. Tq you so much @troubled_T_T
.
Very happy for you my friend. Its like as if our whole life we are missing this BP 2.5%. The result is incredible, even antibiotics dont give such result !!
Guys just go for 2.5% it is good enough. I dont even put daily now, when spots occur, i applied once or twice and it will go away very fast. Trying to cut reliance on it but will continue to live with BP 2.5%, it has given me new hope in life!!! Try it @Thisisused

(I'm 21 and I now have noticeable wrinkles where my nose meets my cheeks, which is also where I applied BP onto the most). I've been using Azelaic acid cream for the past month or so, and it works. I've had a few small breakouts, nothing major, but definitely not as effective as BP.
DIdnt notice wrinkles, or maybe i am 39 wrinkles already there. Or maybe i am using 2.5% BP and i only use a very thin layer. Try not to use such a thick layer, the effect should be the same in getting rid of acne.

I'm Disappointed that I've not noticed any difference yet, however i will continue for a few more weeks yet. Ill keep you posted on results.
Hi @Thisisused you should see result after 1st week of use of BP 2.5% (Benzac water base gel), use thin layer morning and night. Moisturize when drying occur.
Now i use only once at night as preventive but no dryness occurs. i think 2.5% is the magic number, enough to get rid of acne but not so harsh to create dryness and wrinkles.
Have faith guys, life is good !!

It took 2 to 3 weeks for the BP to start working, and even after that I had minor breakouts (1 or 2 pustules every couple days). After a month of useIwas basically 100% clear.

I'm past a month of use now with little or no improvement. I did use BP a few years ago in conjunction with a steroid cream, perhaps this is why its not working this time around.
Here's the things i have tried so far as recommended on this thread:
Celery Juice- every morning, i also add blueberries and drink it all (pulp included.Yuck)
BP 5% face wash, twice a day as advised.
Dairy - removed completely from my diet for a while,i nowhave a very little amount that's usually added into my evening meal by my wife, for examplebutter used in frying.
Alcohol - i stopped drinking completely. Not even a drop.
I also drink a good amountof water and eat a healthy, varied diet with little sugar.
The above routine has been in placefor about 6-7 weeks.
Starting to get pretty down about it all now. i went into this with a positive attitude to finally try and resolve thisacne that has been so aggressive for years now.

Dont mix the cellery juice with blueberries or anything else, not even with water. Just plain celery juice. Also remove the pulp!
Here is a good video explanation: [Edited link out]

Will do, no more mixing! I don't see how adding water could be harmful in anyway but as I'm desperate ill do what the video says.

Hmm, i cant find it. Will trust you anyway and not add water.
I've had pretty dry skin recently, did anybody find a good moisturiser? Im hesitant to use the standard high street garbage that's loaded with chemicals

Hi, we are talking about BP water based gel, not face wash. BP water based gel to be applied on face after washing face.

Hi everybody !
I join this forum because i've found out a treatment against these breakouts ! I hope it's gonna work for you too !
First of all, i'm sorry for my english because i'm french.
I'm gonna do a brief presentation of myself and my case. I'm a 32 years old french scientist (i have a PhD in micriobiology) that deals with pustules on his face since my 20's. When i was a teenager, i did't have acne at all ! It started around my 20 and at that time i didn't believe it could be possible to have acne when you were an adult male. My acne was exactly the same as that describes in your previous posts. I had pustules around and at the edge of my nose, around my mouth, on my chin, on my nose between my eyes, on my scalp and also between my chest muscles ! Every morning, the first thing i did was to look my face on the mirror and be depressed to see that i had to deal with these pustules all the day. Like everybody i exploded these pimplesto reduce my "pustular face" ! Because it's hard to have acne, but i prefer a red pimplethan a white pimple that everybody looks when your are talking to them... The worst thing was that a red pimple could appeared during the day and in a few hours became a big pustule ! Ialso had (the last 4 years) a seborrheic dermatitis that was developped around my nose, my mouth (my moustache and my beard) and my eyebrows.
I had different treatments and the one which works the best is a cream named : Epiduo Gel (maybe it's the french name. It's a mixture of benzoyle peroxyde and adapalen). I put a nut of cream around and at the edge of my nostrils, as well as on my chin. It was very effictive but not sufficient, because i had everyday 1 or 2 new pimples that appeared on my face (except around my nose : that was really effective for this area !).
But since two weeks i haven't had breakouts nor sebhorreic dermatitis anymore !!! I've just changed a simple think in my diet : i have stopped eating "gluten" ! That means i do not eat food containing wheat (or gluten)or its derivatives, i have stopped drinking beer (and all alcohols that are issued from wheat : vodka, whisky for instance).
It's just a miracle ! You should try this too. It took me between 4 or 5 days to observe adifference and it was radical !
See you guys !

Thanks for the tip! I've been using BP for a few weeks now, i was originally using the BP wash, until somebody on here kindly put me on to the Gel. Since then my Face has improved significantly. I still get occasional spots, however its nothing compared to what it used to be.
I tried removing dairy, reducing sugar and celery juicing with Little success. Turns out some good ol fashion hard chemicals did the trick. Heres hoping its not a temporary fix.

Hello, I just want to known if anyone knows what exactly is this? Been suffering for a year and even my derma don't know what is this condition. But what I've observed is that, it doesn't go away with any acne treatments! It's like a whitehead that you can pop easily, because it has a pus inside. But my problem is it's reoccuring! Sometimes my face is clear but sometimes its not. and one thing, in the morning when they're still tiny and barely noticeable, by the end of the day after going to work, its spreading all over my face and they grew a little bit (flared) it's kinda itchy too
i just want to end this. I have a clear skin before having this condition.. my confidence is so low now
please help me, day by day I'm losing hope that it can be cleared.

In this specific post, regarding pustules around the mouth and nose, we have found that Benzoyl peroxide and Azelaic acid cream work the best (in my case, BP worked much better). However, these medications are only treating the symptoms and not the root cause.
If you are looking to rid your condition, you should look into your diet. Do research on the following: Ketogenic diet (high fat, moderate protein, low carb intake), the Elimination diet (used to figure out allergies that can cause dermal issues), drinking celery juice daily (rids body of toxins; look up "Medical Medium" he'll explain in-depth), restoring/strengthening your intestinal microbiome by consuming probiotic supplements or probiotic rich foods such as kombucha, kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, etc (especially concerns people who have taken antibiotics in the past).
The information I'm providing you has been pulled from various users within this 21 page post and from outside sources, which I have done extensive research on; it is essentially a summary of my findings. I urge you to do your own research before attempting anything above, good luck.
Oh my God, I finally found other people who have the same problem that I have for almost 9 years. I'm 27 right now and still fighting with this sh*t. Just to summarize:
- I did culture from pustule 9 years ago at the beggining and only p. acnes found, also from my throat like 5 years ago and also nothing
- after oral antibiotics like lymecycline or amoxicillin everything disappears within 3-4 days.
- after topical antibiotics used for acne like erythromycin, clindamycin, chloramphenicol (worked best) it also dissapers but only until the bacteria makes resistance to that antibiotics - so only for a couple of months
- I see correlation with cosmetics I use, some wash gels and creams make it much more worse
- the thing that worked for me for almost two years was duac (benzoyl peroxide + clindamycin) - my skin was clear almost all the time, after reading this topic i think it was because of BP
- I see correlation with diet: when I eat dairy and citruses I break much more, now I want to also exclude gluten
- the strangest thing is that sometimes for example today (3-6 times a year) I have pustule in my nose! I have read that some of you also had that. Maybe this is a sign of something? Plese see attached photo of it.
Also please tell me who is still having the problem and who managed to get rid of it? From what I have read in this topic i should give a try to sulphur soap and celery juice. I think I'm gonna start with the juice first.

There's a huge correlation between antibiotics, intensive skincare, and diet with this skin condition. Most of us here have used antibiotics which compromises the gut and skin, leading to an imbalance ofbacteria. While cultures can find out what type of bacteria could be causing your acne (on your skin and in your gut), it cannot deduce the proportions of each species. Most people, even medical professionals, tend to think that it's a specific strand of bacteria that "causes" acne, but in reality it is actually dependent on the amount of each type and how "balanced" the microbiome is. Almost everyone has P.acnes bacteria on their skin, but that doesn't mean everyone has acne. This is exactly why antibiotics can be very harmful, it distorts the equilibrium of the microbiome. Other types of medication like accutane may also contribute to this.
As with intensive skin care, I can tell that you have a few deep scars on your face that could've been due to previous acne lesions, and are separate from this pustule type of folliculitis. Due to this I suspect you have been rigorous in your efforts to rid your acne in the past? Thiskind of over-cleansing/over-exfoliating/over-applying of products practicecould've, again causedan imbalance in not only the microbiome on your skin but also the amount of sebum production (skin oil). Both of which are likely the cause this kind of folliculitis.
Lastly, diet. The one factor that has been disregarded by many medical practitioners, since "science hasn't proven it yet", atleast not to my knowledge. There have been a plethora of anecdotal evidence where people claim that certain types of foods or way of eating can cause skin issues. "You are what you eat." Your diet affects hormone production (eg: insulin, DHT), sebum production, and of course, your bacterial make-up (probiotic rich foods are beneficial, and processed junk foods are detrimental). There are so many other factors like: how often you eat, how much you eat, do you fast?, do you eat foods high in the glycemic index?, do you have enough zinc, copper, fiber, antioxidants, omega-3/omega-6, vitamins, essential amino acids?.. The list goes on forever. It's blatantly obvious, and yet there are doctors and dermatologists who shrug diet off like it has nothing to do with your acne; it boggles my mind. Perhaps their concern lies in their earnings rather than your well-being
You may already have noticed by now, but what I have just mentioned abovehas been taken from personal experience.I've already posted a reply above yours that may help you if you are looking to get rid of the folliculitis, and not just covering the symptoms with BP, take a look if you'd like.
Evenings all...
Ive posted on this site before awhile back. Just wondering if I can use Aqua Aqueous cream on my face as a mosturiser after I apply benzoyl peroxide. The aqueous is sls and Parabenfree. It does have very little ingredients also. I suffer from oily skin but very mild. Living conditions are hot. Cos Im in summer right now. Oh and I suffer from the same kinda pimples or pustules as previously posted by some of the members. Especially beard area, but Ive seen from late Im starting to get them under my eyebrows, considering I dont wax tweaze or shave... I may at times let even my beard grow but I still manage to get those pimples all the time...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated...
Thankyou.
The creamprobably has Cetostearyl alcohol which is a mildly comedogenic (clogs pores) and mildly irritating for the skin. I personally use hemp seed oil as a moisturizer, there are a lot of other plant derived oils that you can use instead. However, if you've haven't noticed any sort of negative effects on your skin after applying the aqueous cream then you can continue using it without worrying about it interfering with the BP. There is a catch though, you should use the BP first and wait about 5-15 minutes for it to dry before applying the moisturizer. If you are worried about the moisturizer ruining the efficacy of the BP, then you can wait even longer, perhapsup to an hour.
Thanx so much for the feedback. I actually ditched the aqueous cream and Im using now a mosturiser by Yardley which seems to working quite fine. But I have another problem I only get these stubborn pimples where hair is located and when do get them I manage to subside the pain with anti biotic creams. But still they wouldremain under the skin like a cyst almost but painless ones. Anything that would help with this issue will be highly appreciated.
For me, I have found my cure. I have had acne since I was a teen and I used BP for years. Thesetiny painful and/or itchy spreading puss filled zits we are all getting steam from our nose. Itsstaff that most people have in their nostrils. Our skin is dry andlayered with dead cells we werent aware of. Dry skin cracks easily. Microscopic cracks in our skin makesthese tiny puss filled zitsspread like wildfire. We need to shed the layers before we begin to heal. Im throwing away everything and keeping the following items.
1. MUST have - 91% isopropyl alcohol- yes its drying, but placed only on those horrid painful zits a few times a day WILL dry them up.
2. Optional- Tea tree oil - follow immediately with this. This is a natural antibiotic.
3 MUST have -Tree active acne eliminating face cream - amazing and life changing. Keeps skin soft and stops the zits from spreading. I use it twice a day all over my face and put a little extra on any zits. My skin has never looked better and it smells great.
4. MUST have - Pauls choice 8% aha cream glycolic acid - this changed the texture of my skin to smooth out acne scars. It takes 1-3 weeksto get through the layers. I use it only at night now but at first I used it twice a day. This makes your skin smooth and stops the tiny puss filledspreading acne. This sloughs offdead skin cells all by itself and makes my skin look and feel like someone with great skin!
5. Optional -Paulas choice 2% bha gel salicylic acid - if you have large pores and oily skin this is amazing.
6. Optional -Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream extra dry skin - I use this but anything might do.
7. Optional- Queen Helene mint julep masque - cheap and pulls oil and impurities fromyour skin.
8. I wont purchase again -Keeva tea tree oil acne treatment cream - good reviews but for me its not as good as the tree active.
9. I seriously wash my hair and face with Trader Joes tea tree tingle shampoo. Any tea tree oil face wash should work.
On rare occasion I still get a zit in my nose or near it or near my mouth. It doesnt spread with the steps I use. Its usually when Ive got a cold or its almost that time of the month.Ive given these instructions to a friend and shes also amazed. My skin has not looked this good since junior high.
I have tried RetinA and Finacea gel. Both have helped shed skin but for me it was hard to keep my skin soft and moisturized. I no longer use BP as it made my skin dry and started giving me wrinkles.
I want to add Ive been gluten free for years and its had no impact on my skin. I also periodically obstain from dairy. A dairy free diet reduces inflammation for me and initially helped but once my body getsused to zero dairy my skin flaresup again.
Whatever you you choose to use, keep your skin moisturized andexfoliate without harsh scrubbingto eliminate spreading.
Best of luck to all.

I'm glad its working out alright for you. I don't have any experience with the cyst-like lesions you mentioned, so I can't really recommend a definite solution for you. However, you can experiment with tea tree oil as a replacement to that antibiotic cream you're using, which is very likely one of the causes for these pustules we all have in the first place(remember to dilute the tea tree oil with a different oil if you buy it 100% pure, research about this), you can also give exfoliation a try, start by using oatmeal as the exfoliant.

Hi Guys,
So I had the same problem as discussed by many guys here for 3-4 years. I used to search all over the internet, tried different dermatologists, follow all the tips and treatments discussed on this forum from using various essential oils, garlic, using just water to wash face, avoiding lactose completely etc. etc. But nothing worked substantially.
But then out of the blue, I stopped everything and started taking PSYLLIUM HUSK every day in the morning. And that was it. Just that. It's been more than 8-9 months and other than 1 or 2 small pustules erupting 2-3 times over that time, I have had a clean face. My diet has always been devoid of junk food since I am a fitness freak but I still try to avoid lactose and eggs in my diet even though when I do have it, nothing happens.
I created this account today just to share with anyone who comes across this page in the future and hoping that this - psyllium husk - works for you too because I remember I used to come to this page and read every comment hoping someone found something that worked. I hope it works for some if not all. Cheers!

Psyllium husk => fiber => good for microbiome => affects skin
Hi guys,
I have been suffering from this problem for almost 5 years. I don't know exactly where it started. I was prescribed Clindamycin, which I took for almost 40-45 days, it kept it under control for almost 4-5 months but after that it all fell apart, was prescribed the same medicine again but it came back just within a week. Sometimes I also get these in between my eyebrows and on my scalp. After that I was looking for a natural cure as I had lost faith in doctors. Himalaya Neem Face Pack helped in keeping it under control but didn't get rid of it. The next thing that I tried was BP(5%) and it has helped me a lot. I get a few flare ups once in a while but that's all. I also try to avoid sugar and dairy.
But is it ok to use BP for our whole life ( I don't have a problem with the side effects like dry skin and wrinkles), will it work for such a long period of time, won't the bacteria develop tolerance against it?
I am looking forward to trying celery juice @Maicon & psyllium husk @divtail, I hope it will help.
P.S. Thanks for creating this thread. May god bless you all.

The thing about BP is that it's not antimicrobial for a majority of bacteria. It's only really effective against P.acnes, and some research shows its also effective against Staph. The mechanism it uses differs from antibiotic creams. To put simply, it exposes the aforementioned bacteria to high levels of oxygen. Since P.acnes specifically, is mostly anaerobic (prefers oxygenless environment), it dies when oxygen levels are too high.

Alright, so what u mean to say is the bacteria won't turn resistant. So it can be used for life?
