So I've had acne since I was 15 now I'm 30. Did a spell of accutane at 22 which worked great but came back after a couple of years and stayed since. Anyway, I've was surfing the net for another issue I have and came across this...
[Removed]
As I read it all started to make sense! From the things listed on the page I suffer from the below on and off during the year...
Acne - chin and jawline mostly
Dyshidrotic eczema on feet
Jock itch during summer
Athletes foot occasionally
Fungal nail infection in one toe but can't seem to shift
Could all of these things be linked to Candida overgrowth or is it just a myth? Also what's the best way to cure?
Thanks
Yes - it might be aggravating your acne and causing some of your other symptoms. It may also just be a sensitivity to yeast and sugary foods. I can't eat anything with yeast in it like bread. And sugary foods make my acne worse and can cause other undesirable conditions. Following a low fructose, no alcohol/sugar/dairy, whole foods diet will help many inflammatory symptoms like the ones you mention. Dairy also has hormones that add to problems.
Some of the foods mentioned on typical candida diets are okay for me...such as fresh mushrooms and nutritional yeast which is actually a dried mushroom exceedingly high in B vitamins and great for acne.
