I'm 29 and feel like in a way I've been cheated through my young adult life. I've lacked the confidence I feel everyone deserves. It's so devastating how something like this can prevent you from becoming the person you want to be. I'm starting to see gray hairs and lines on my face and I feel like I don't have any more time to waste.

This kind of gave me the chills. I'm 29 too and feel exactly like this. Acne has, and has had, a major effect on the person I've become and the life I'm leading.

I think the disease is generally underestimated by doctors, because it's "only cosmetic". Everyone on here knows it's not only cosmetic.

Oh wow~

I am so sorry to hear about this. I can relate so much.. I also have tried everything under the sun. Every laser out there I know about and tried them. I have sever damage from my last Blu-U levulan treatment and honestly if you are over 18? I don't think you should do them. I mean, your skin doesn't heal as well and I have terrible wrinkle issues now from it. Today, the weather is nice and I live right outside the park, but I am home covered in sunscreen because my skin got so damaged from my last stupid derm.

However I did my research of derms after and found this super dermatologist and he cleared me up. It took about 10 months, but it worked. Birthcontrol, Anti-biotics, Retin-A, and Duac all at once just cleared me right up and also helped with acne scaring and anti-aging. I know it sounds like I haven't tried these in the past? But I have it's just I never gave them more than 2 months before nor all of them together. But this time I stuck with it thinking I have no other option and also I really trusted my doctor. He was like president of every derm society I know of.

I now know the importance of good dermatologist. I think some these days are just out there for money. Then there are others that just plain do not know what the hell they are doing. So I suggest if you can research for a old, researching, diplomat of dermotology association kind of dermatologist, and give the dude like 6 months. Just try you know. I was so frustrated with it, and I hear of other's frustration and I got clear so easily and I was talking to the nurse about it adn she said, Yea, retin a antibiotics will clear everyone up. Is what she said. And if you can't deal with the purging, try going to a facial person to pop them during the process maybe? And I think duac, and anti-bioitics helped. Also, if you are guy with a hormone issues, my gyno said to take some heart medication that does the same thing. I was suffering trying everything, spending ten thousands or more on cosmetics, lasers, etc....dermatologists, facial people. you name it I have tried them..... and it just was so easy it just took patience with Retin A and others. Also, retin-a significantly improved my acne scars, facial lines... so I just wore it for that at first because Retin-A never really worked for me either, but i never gave the medicine really a chance. Now I feel addicted to it.

In the beginning big bumpy fat like stuff was coming out from my pores randomly. Not alot, but some. It was so strange. I guess it was getting rid of stuff under the skin. Now I have been on it for about 10 months now and my pors have shrunk so much, acne scar gone, and a lot of the laser damages have gotten better. I also had keloid scars from laser and acne, and they have improved a lot too. I wear it for anti-aging because it's the only stuff that's proven ( scientifically) to build collagen. NO I do not work for retin-A. I just with I found out of this medicine sooner.

so considering your age and stuff I would just get on Retin-A just to help with wrinkles and It will clear your pores out, but I think it takes atleast 6 months to really see anything.

I am just so hoping your pain will go away. Because Ahhh I know what it's like really. And I am now although cleared, suffereing from damages from laser and it's been so difficult self-esteem wise because I went to a stupid, out for money dermatologist that blasted laser on me so hard it damaged my skin really bad with scars, and others.... But that's another topic, and scars just dont clear up you know. I don't recommend acne lasers at all.

i gotta help u guys out here. specially the dude with acne for 30 years. in 1938 a study was done were vitamin d cured 78% of acne sufferers. try it guys it will probably take at most 3 months for it to work. you have to take 5,000 iu to 14,000 iu a day. vitamin d is a pre hormone and has lots of other great benefits. basically it helps acne becuase it plays a role in regulate our sebocytes(skin cells that create oil) and releases these antibacterial agents. dont let the secret out tho because the fda is trying to ban vitamin d because it could cost the big pharma billions of dollars.
