Initial Breakout Period

I'm on day 9 of accutane and I'm more broken out than I have ever been in my life. I assume this is because of the "initial breakout period" so I was wondering approximately how long it takes for that to go away. I also have been peeling a lot since the 4th day on it. Did anyone else have that and if so did you have it the whole time you were on accutane? Any input will help thanks.

From my experience and what I've heard from many others, the initial breakout usually only lasts through week 4. Don't expect to be clear on week 5 - but you probably won't be seeing quite so much then.
(Though your IB started pretty early, so maybe it will end early, too!) Hang in there, it will all be worth it.

LOTS of people peel. I personally, didn't. Have you been moisturizing daily?

Thanks! I am moisturizing everyday but I wear makeup to school because of the bad breakouts and at the end of the day my skin is pretty dry and flaky. I use cetaphil and cerave which works for a while but I still end up being dry after 4ish hours.

Hey! My initial breakout my firsttime on Accutane was terrible and lasted for about 4 weeks. Along with the dryness. I'm on my first day of my second round and I think you just have to wait it out and continue moisturizing because from my experience and reading other peoples, I don't think there's anything to completely stop the dry peeling skin. After 4 weeks my skin went "normal" and wasn't dry or oily at all. Hope it helps and goodluck. It's worth it :)
