Just wondering if anyone has had to go on more than 2 rounds of accutane? That is my worst fear that this round 2 wont work.

My derm told me she as a patient that is on his 5th round, he is almost 50 and has a really severe cystic acne, so yeah there are people like that. :smileys_n_people_37:

Aw, so sorry you have to do it again. I really hope I don't. How long were you clear for? Did it come back as badly? Did you get as oily as you were pre-accutane?

Thanks for the response. I went about 5 years before the acne came back, I had moved since then and my new derm refused to put me on accutane but nothing he prescribed worked. I also had gone off birth control at the same time which made my skin crazy oily and full of cystic zits. I finally went to an alternate source to get accutane, so its been 7 yrs now since round 1. It is taking this round much longer to work, so I worry it wont be as effective, even though my dosage is doubled this time. The side effects are so bad, I just want this to be over with permanently and not have to worry about zits.

Oh, it will work 100%, don't worry. I know it apparently doesn't work for a few people, but I am sure that's only because some people don't take it with food/fat.  That's great to hear that you went so long without acne - was your skin close to flawless during that time?  I won't cope if I have cystic acne 3 months after I come off this medication - I hope for your results! Good luck and just try and forget you're on accutane.  The first 4 months were up and down for me. :)
