I am paying 200 dollars each month for 30 pills of Zenatane. Sadly it is expensive but I want clear skin.
My Story
High School I got a few pimples rarely. I had very clear skin. Around junior/senior I got pimples and kept picking them so they got worse. When I graduated high school(summer2013) I was on doxycycline and ziana topical and I got completely clear! When I got off of it, I had about 3 months until I started breaking out (fall2013)again except this time way worse, huge pimples everywhere on the right side of my face. Left side was good.
It became spring(2014) and it got worse again only on my right side. I tried to go back on doxycycline and ziana but now my left side erupted with acne. So now both side of my face have acne. So I started the acne.org regimen and it did not really work but when summer(2014) hit and all I did was use cerave moisturizer and cleanser and I got so clear again.
Now at the end of summer (2014)acne started coming back, fall(2014) it got worse and the next spring(2015) it got even worse. The pattern was that hey maybe summer(2015) will clear me up but now it is august and I still have bad acne. My tan makes my skin look better because it evened the tone of my skin but I still have cysts here and there and acne is always present.
My Doctor finally said to me maybe you should try accutane for 5 months. It has saved many people lives and gets rid of their acne for a long time and that side affects were so minor. I was convinced and did some research and went for it.
I will be uploading pictures everyweek. These pictures were taken on august 5th, the very first day I received my zenatane 40mg. I take it around 7 pm with a meal.
Just hope they don't increase your dosage. After 40 mg you'll have to buy another full thing of pills and that's when the price becomes outrageous. I just started my 2nd month on zenatane last night at 80 mg/day (1.35 mg/kg) and am having to pay $500 a month just for pills. My sister questioned why they cost so much and the best answer I could give her was "Because it works."
Today is my 12th day taking zenatane and so far it has made my face flatter with a few pimples here and there which i hope is normal. I pick and pop some cysts when they aren't painful just to let the fluid out and so that people aren't staring. I know its bad but its like impossible for me not too pick my face. Power to the people who can though.
My lips were so dry and they felt like they were windburned the first week. Now they just feel dry and always need aquafor.
That and being more tired than usual are the only side affects.

I think my neck is breakin gout hopefully that is my initial breakout.... sigh.

Also I have wierd dry patches and my skin peels on my back neck alot and my eczema looks way worse when i scratch while on this medicine but I think thats obvious.

Yeah I hope they dont increase my dose. I will be broke. Also yeah this works for alot of people and seeing that i dont have much side affects, I am happy taking this. I hope my battle ends in half a year
