So I'm not exactly sure how this forum works but let me first start off by saying I am so happy there is a place like this so we All don't have to be alone through out treatment.

My name is Jennifer and I have finally had enough with creams and moisturizers and pills. I am 23 and have recently made a lot of new changes in my life. I stopped drinking, drugging, and smoking for about a year. Although I occasionally smoke a cigarette. I take lexapro 10mg a day for depression and was taking minocyclin for my acne along with 3 different topical ointments. However, if I went more then 2 days without either one, my face would start to break out. Finally I said I've had enough and picked up my first Isotretonin script. 30mg a day and in on day 6.

I stopped all other acne medication three weeks ago n so between that and the six days of Accutane, my face is breaking out so bad and is super oily.

I recently started graduate school and a new internship and I hate having to show up because I can't stand to look people in the eyes. My face hasn't been this bad since before the minocyclin and I constantly find myself in the mirror picking.

I'm hoping it gets better and have faith that it will. If anyone has any advice feel free to share. I will upload pictures tomorrow.

First. Stop picking.Second, accutane has an initial breakout period. Don't pick on the lesions that come after accutane as your skin is super sensitive at this point, therefore scarring is MUCH more likely. Third. Get through it. Accutane works for 95% of the people that use it, just know that you're on your way to clear skin and you will get there.
