Okay so I had to edit this because my thread is lacking information about me,
So, I'm from the Philippines (take note: tropical country) So acne is really common here in our country. I've been suffering for 5 or 6 years now. My acne is Mild to moderate, but since last 2 months of 2014 my skin freaked out especially in my chest, back, and crotch area.
I tried taking Doxycycline for a month or two, I tried epiduo too and other natural oils like Tea Tree oil, Jojoba oil. And oh, Ofcourse I also tried Proactiv for 3 months. All of these pretty much flared up my acne, but acne will come back worst than before.
So here I am taking Acnetrex (Accutane), and I am taking 10mg/a day for 2 weeks atleast.
Day 3:
I stopped using Dan's BP since day 1, So now I have army of pimples EVERYWHERE. I have pimples on my nose, left & right side cheeks, and forehead. I am hopeful that these will go away within my 1 month or 1 and a half month of taking accutane.
So far no side effects. No dry lips, however I get white flakes on my chin which is manageable because I put moisturizer with jojoba oil on it.
Day 9:
I am still breaking out, but other big pimples are getting smaller everyday.
Side effects Im experiencing: Back pain, kinda dry lips, dry mouth
I am usually oily (i mean VERY oily), but I can see that in Day 5 or 6 I am not that oily anymore, but not dry.
I am still on 10mg once per day. Will go back to my dermatologist this friday (on my Day 14), and hopefully she will increase my dosage to 40mg or 80mg!! Yay!!!
Day 19 (technically Day 20, but i skipped 1 pill so day 19)
Face Acne :
My face is a mess right now. I am not oily anymore - but i am somewhat dry like my lips, chin, and neck. I have also dry lips, I apply Petroleum Jelly every 30 or 1 hr or else it It will hurt to smile or eat. (I ordered Aquaphor on amazon, I shipped it here in Phil so it will take a while to arrive)
Body Acne :
Somewhat my chest dry fast and other pimples are getting smaller and other are fading, but there are new ones that are forming. Bummer.
Thigh Acne :
I really don't know if Accutane will kill these pimples on my thighs(?), but they are slowly getting away (but would come back every week)

Wishing you the best. I've just started on 20 mg per day and am just finishing my first month. So far no improvements on my back nor chest acne, but fingers crossed for us both.
Hi KWRHL, good luck! Same here, three weeks in today. I have some chest and back pains but they could also be from a cold I just went through. I have dry lips (not too much though). My face is really dry now as well but the acne hasn't improved yet.

Day 38: (still 20mg/day)
So in overall - I took 610mg out of 6545mg (low dose) or 8181mg (high dose).
Initial breakout is subsiding, but still same same on my chest and back. I call it 'severe' but derm said that it is moderate.
Lips doesn't dry that much (but still dry), I put aquaphor on it for atleast 3 to 4 times a day.
Still a long road, but i should keep these positive vibes in me.

PS: Doc said that these pimples on my pits are not Acne Inversa. Yay!
Day 69:
Still on 20mg/day until my 4th month. I really don't know how long this journey is but i think it is more than 6 months because I am in a super low dose. Anyway, everything is going great!
Pimples on my chin and cheeks are now gone but left so many scars! :~(
So far I only experience common side effects like Super dry lips, back pain, and mild dry skin!!!
THIS JOURNEY AIN'T OVER YET!!!!
Day 118:
My pores on my nose are too big and full of white heads. EW. Back is still aching (but not too much). Ofcourse, lips are still dry as a desert. And pimples on my face are out but I have way too many scars and hyperpigmentation. Chest and bacne are still like that? I guess. They're still worse but not the worst just like before.
I will be back on my dermatologist on Monday (my 120th day), hopefully i will be bumped up to 40 or 50mg/day!!!
