I spoke with a girl recently who happened to be on Accutane years ago and expressed how much she missed the oil-free feeling.
I've heard from others on here that the oiliness comes back, but not to the same extent, but the acne was easier to manage with the topicals than before getting on accutane.
I was wondering what approaches you guys have on battling the potential oiliness and breakouts.
After I'm done with my course I will probably get back on my pre-accutane treatment of using prescription gels. However, a big side of me wants to go through another course just to make sure I won't have to deal with the same skin issues again.
I'm not on Accutane but I have oily skin and have noticed an improvement since I started taking hemp seed oil supplements. I take 2 capsules twice a day. Hemp seed oil was recommended to me by a friend on here who was on Accutane. I have combination oily/dry skin, so my skin care plan is just warm water and the Acne.Org moisturizer. Cleansers dry my skin out and tell my skin to produce more oil so I seldom use them.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

I was worried about it too coming off of accutane and had the same thoughts. I've been off it for over 6 months now and I remain clear. I'd say my face is about 80% of the oilyness it was before, and I do miss (to a certain extent) not having to worry about oilyness on accutane. I only had to wash my hair like once every 10 days, which sounds gross, but any more than that would have been too much. My friend, who has the most insanely sensitive sense of smell, commented that she could tell I just washed my hair because she could smell my shampoo from across the room. Imagine her surprise when I told her I hadn't washed my hair in a week!
Yeah, I miss that. But....I also like that my skin is back to normal. Give it some time,- you might not need another course.
I don't want to be one of those people who believe that their skin was their best while on Accutane, because it makes me want to buy it illegally and take it for the rest of my life, which obviously is not a smart idea.
What can I do to maintain my normally oily skin from breaking out? I'm at my wit's end!
