day 59 - i have some more new pimples, two on my cheek (the better side i don't usually upload pics of) and another one on top of my lip. the four on my jawline are super painful but small, very persistent though. side effects: i am very tired all the time but nothing i can't soldier through. i've been getting some very mild back pains that are quite persistent as well but oh well.

day 63 - the pimple on my cheek, on the left side, is taking AGES to go away but i don™t really mind - it's just one after all. the breakout along my jaw is still there but slowly going away. a couple of more new pimples along my jawline, on top of like three layers of scars which means it™s going to be red for probably all of my life ughhh. however the pimples aren™t as big as the big pus filled ones i was getting a few weeks ago and the skin is relatively flat so covering it up is a breeze. my face has been feeling very tight and hot, flushing comes and goes. it™s quite annoying but i don™t think it™s that noticeable when i™m wearing make up. back pains are getting terrible and so are my joints, usually after an 8 hour shift at work my hips are killing me. i sneezed the other day and thought i™d thrown my back out. i™m 19, i feel like an old geezer :(

i thought i™d add in my everyday makeup routine. ideally, i wouldn™t like to wear makeup at all while i™m on roaccutane but i™m not living in an ideal world, am i? i have to wear make up for work and i feel better wearing make up when i™m going to uni or socialising. what can you do.

in the mornings i wash my face with cetaphil gentle cleanser and then use thayers alcohol free witch hazel toner on a cotton round to remove all the nasties accumulated during sleep. then if i™m going to be in the sun i use the kiss my face spf 30 moisturising sunscreen, which i love although i do want to try the clarins one, and then blend a light layer of the skin79 bb cream on top with a beauty blender. i have the skin79 bb cream in hot pink which is supposed to help with hyper pigmentation and i don™t know if its working or not but it also has spf 25 so i™m very pleased with it. the colour is a bit off, a lot more pink than i™d like since i have very yellow undertones, but it™s the one thing that doesn™t accentuate dryness on my face. since starting roaccutane, it™s been a godsend. i use the mac select moisture cover concealer for big blemishes and do the rest of my make up.

taking off my make up i use the garnier micellar water on a cotton round. then i wash with my cetaphil cleanser using warm water and then repeat, finishing off by rinsing my face with cold water. i use the same toner to get the last traces of make up off and moisturise using the cetaphil moisturiser.

i™ve been having no problems with dryness of skin since i moisturise religiously but if don™t moisturise straight after washing my face, my face feels hella dried out.

crimson storm- thank you! i'm feeling a lot more optimistic than when i was getting loads of breakouts. still a bunch of scars left and the fear that it's going to happen again but the next couple of months feel like it's going to be easier (hopefully). i tried using the burt bee™s beeswax lip balm but it didn™t work as well as my pawpaw ointment. the pawpaw ointment has a LOT more slip while the burt bee's is very waxy and didn't feel very moisturising. it was hard to get on as well since it's such a hard, waxy formula. i managed to get rid of the angular chellitis just by using the pawpaw ointment so i've promised it not to stray again haha

I am just about to start my second month & feeling really down, it would be so bad if I could at least eat... My lips are cracked in the side so it's split & it hurts so bad to open my mouth. I got a new cyst right under my nose that's extremely painful and another right my the left side of my mouth it's been there about a week and I picked at it ): (bad habit yes I kno) but I had to relieve some of the pressure. Good luck with you're journey let's try to stay strong. A clear face is worth it !

i forgot to upload the latest pics i took which was on day 62, a day before my most recent log. i'm still getting actives (& dem scars doe) but the texture of my skin is so smooth and clear, i'm really excited for the rest of this course!

day 65 - side effects! holy shit my lower back is killing me. it's been persistently achey for a few weeks, i thought it was just after work but apparently not i went to the arctic monkeys concert yesterday and was crushed to death in the mosh so i'm hoping that played a huge part. the concert was awesome, i was literally drenched in sweat and i noticed my face was really stinging? it doesn't usually sting like that when i sweat but then again i haven't sweated that much in a while. it was pretty gross. but hella fun haha

also, my eyes are kind of dry. not dry-dry where i'd need those eye drop thingies (they scare the shit out of me i CANNOT PUT ANYTHING IN MY EYE I WILL JUST SUFFER). but when i'm walking and it's windy i have to like hood my eyes so i look like i'm high or falling asleep or i have to squint and i just look sus.

xoliz - the second month was pretty shit for me too my dose was low and i had lip balm on 24/7 so i didn't really have problem with dry lips until now and even now they're pretty much under control with paw paw ointment. the side of my lip cracked too! it'd heal a bit and i'd yawn or eat a sandwich and rip open again and just take aaages to heal but once it healed i just kept putting on pawpaw ointment and it hasn't ripped again yet, fingers crossed! Good luck to you too! It's going to get better soon, it has to

day 66 - spoke too soon. woke up with extremely dry lips, went to brush my teeth and my lip split on the same side as before. i think i'm just going to have to put on pawpaw ointment before i even brush my teeth so i can comfortably open my mouth without it ripping. nothing new. the little cuts i've been getting on my hands, due to them being super sensitive and fragile now, are taking AGES to heal and leave a really dark sky. they're literally just NOT healing???? anyone know what i can do about this? i've still been moisturising them religiously...

day 74 - can't believe it's day 74 already! i'm super pleased with my skin, i think having the initial breakout just made me that much more grateful when my skin started clearing up. there is a LOT of scarring though, makes my whole face look discoloured but i'm not that down about it, you can't tell if i'm wearing a very thin layer of foundation to even out my skin tone. i've broken out a bit over the week due to my periods which are due soon, it's mostly in the hollows of my cheek and my jawline. i keep breaking out in the hollows of my cheek, like a line that follows the cheekbone it's SO FREAKING WEIRD AND FRUSTRATING WHY IS IT DOING THAT. i haven't seen other people's follow that kind of weird pattern before so i'm thinking maybe it's what i'm using like my bronzer???

anyway, side effects - achey back, achey joints, my face gets super red if i stay in the sun for five seconds, the rip on the side of my mouth cleared up with a lot of pawpaw ointment. i know it's stupid but not being able to wear lipstick really bums me out haha. i've been really tense and stressed lately, my muscles are all knotted and bunched up constantly and they ache a lot too, even if i haven't done any strenuous physical activity.

rebbie - thank you! i'm really pleased with how its going, everything seems bearable.

soaruphigh - thanks buddy :)

newslang - thank you so much! i hope it works out for as much as its working out for me and i hope to god you don't get as bad as an IB as i got!! GOOD LUCK

also, i haven't had any alcohol since i started roaccutane. it feels like its been an eternity. i feel like i've been a hermit this entire time but now that i'm feeling a lot better i kind of really want to go out regularly again. i know we shouldn't drink on this drug but..how much is going to be okay? I JUST REALLY WANT TO HAVE SOME FUN UNI HAS BEEN KILLING ME

day 86 - went to pick up my second box of the 20mg roaccutane pills today! this shit is costing me an arm and a leg (not compared to others i guess... i'm a poor uni student bear with) but oh well, it's working and i think it's a good investment!!!! my skin is looking amazing and clear, even when i was going through intense stress and my periods. i only got one zit and i didn't even notice it. i'm going to try and tone down my happiness but i am just incredibly relieved it's doing its job. i have a gajillion scars so i bought some rosehip oil for that, i'm going to take comparison pics on how well they fade scars too! my face goes super red sometimes but i don't think it's a big issue, lips are manageable with pawpaw ointment, back/joint pains are persistent but not too major that it's impairing every day activities.

i haven't had a drink in three months since i was taking this very very seriously and i didn't want to fuck it up. but i'm a uni student and i miss drinking so i'm planning to start that again, especially since the exam period is looming and once that shit is done i'm just going to go ham. i'm hoping it'll be okay since i'm only on 20mg? anyone have any experience with any other substances that is processed through the liver while taking roaccutane..asking for a friend......lol

hope everyone's journeys are going well ))

I'm also on 20mg and I took a really huge dose of paracetamol (Tylenol) during my last period. It totally slipped my mind that I was supposed to stay away from it, and I can't really tell if it made me feel worse because the following day I was still getting my period and feeling super sick. But it didn't affect my blood tests which were a week later.

Anyway, unless you have friends like mine who will literally get on their knees in a club and beg you to drink alcohol, you can just drink virgin cocktails when you're out with friends and not feel weird. You don't need alcohol to get rid of stress jump around a bit.

Your skin is looking great btw :)
