Hello all.
Hope things are going well for you.
@Rassendyll - how's things? Any more improvement/side effects?
Day 51 for me today. Been on 60mg daily for nearly a month now. Skin on face has REALLY improved. Still having flair ups on my back and had one around the back of my neck in my hair line last week, which thankfully has now subsided and I can go for my hair cutting.
Been moisturising every day and using plenty of lip balm and because of this, my side effects have been minimal. If I don't put lip balm on every 50 mins then they look pretty bad, but as long as I'm on the ball with the vaseline and moisturising then you'd never know I was on Roaccutane.
Also, started the gym again recently and the muscular pain I was getting in my side has now gone - so I can get a good nights sleep.
Got my next derm appointment on the 3rd April which is where I'll go up to 80mgs per day. I'm finding it pretty easy to tolerate this stuff once I know how to keep on top of everything.
Will probably post something else in a couple of weeks when I've been on the 80mg for a bit. But so far - so good!

Yeah! Continues to improve. My acne has definitely gone down, but my lips have gotten dryer and dryer. If anyone knows any secret lip moisturising products, that'd be cool.
Longtime no talk!
I'm glad treatment is going well for you.
I'm on 60 mgs at the moment - save for the few days I sporadically/occasionally/accidentally skip, and my skin is doing quite well. There are a few dry spots here and there, but I'm rarely getting huge breakouts anymore. Dry lips and nose are under control for the most part, although I do need to reapply chapstick often. My doctor (not dermatologist) recommended the cream that nursing mothers use on their nipples for a night lip cream but I couldn't get past the strangeness of it...
Good morning!
Think it's been a while since I updated with you all so here I am
This is my 6th week on 80mg/per day and it's my 14th week in total. Face is completely clear now as is my neck/back of neck. However, over the past 4 weeks I developed one massive spot on the side of my neck and also one under my chin on my neck which has been there for 2 weeks now with no signs of a head. It's just there! My derm said that this can sometimes happen. Although I've been applying a tiny dab of topical isotretinoin to it (just a dab on that one lump under my chin) and it's shrinking/drying up albeit extremely slowly.
My back is taking much longer to clear. Still getting spots on my lower back. Shoulders have cleared up considerably. My derm also said that the back can be the last place to clear and takes a bit longer. By the looks of things I'm going to do a full 6 month period on this stuff. My dosage will now stay at 80mgs daily for another 9 weeks/end of July. Then, I hope that I'll be done! I do have a feeling that it'll come back to be honest but we'll see. I'm also going for some Fraxel laser treatment in December which will help get my skin tone to something like it was before I started suffering with this awful disease.
So, how's everyone else getting on?
Hi everyone,
Tomorrow i will be on accutane for 3 months... After 40 mg for a long while I now take 60 since a few weeks.
My experience with accutane hasnt been great so far. I've suffered a lot of nose bleedings (luckily not so much at the moment), very dry lips and also an extremely dry skin. At the moment my arms are full of rash (i hope that is the right english word). They are red and irritated, and its really hard not to scratch them and make it worse :/ Did anyone else experience this??
My face has almost cleared. Most blackheads are gone. But when i woke this morning around 5 new acne spots seem to be growing in my face again
Just like smallguy my chest and back are still pretty full with acne, though i have the feeling it is getting better a little...
i just hope it will be over soon, with summer coming nearer and nearer :/
Good luck everyone!
Hello! How's everyone getting on?
3 weeks left on this now and seen a real improvement. Face is 100% clear as is my neck and chest. My back still has a little bit of activity but is getting there and should be clear come the end of this final 3 weeks. Been on 80mg for 4 months now, started on 40mg then went to 60mg, then 80 for the final 4 months.
Redness on my face seems to be going. Dryness still there but controllable. Dry lips are a nuisance but I'm used to it now, just need to be proactive with the vaseline. Some nose bleeds which led to an infection in my nostrils but some antibiotic ointment cleared that up. No other side effects than what was to be expected so I'm happy and to honest I feel that this has changed my life. Will make a final update in 3 weeks time when I (hopefully) have finished my course.
So, how are you guys finding the treatment? I hope it's going well for everyone?
