Ahhh I'm so excited that the two of you are getting bag balm and cure aqua gel :D I swear that aqua gel is AMAZING and gentle enough to use every day if you want! You'll both have to let me know your thoughts!!

Also, I have the aquaphor lip repair... a totally underwhelming product if you ask me. It applies on just fine, but after 45 minutes to an hour of doing nothing (no talking, no drinking, no eating), it fades. Not impressed!

Do you have to order the Aqua gel online or does sephora or ulta have it? I am getting the bag balm this evening so I will let you know how it works! I am excited to give it a try because like you I am underwhelmed with aquaphor also. Even the regular ointment

I'll definitely let you know how I like the Aqua Gel. I've heard such good things. I can't wait to see how it works for me! 🙂

I definitely won't be getting the Lip Repair then. I'll stick with the ointment, but it would be nice if the ointment came with an applicator tip!

Sephora and Ulta don't sell it. I'm pretty sure the only way to get it in the States is to order it online. I bought it through Amazon (from a Fulfilled by Amazon seller). I paid $33. No tax and my free two-day shipping... I can't complain!

Yeah, the regular ointment definitely helps, but I'd love to try out some other options!

Day 10

No new side effects to report. My lips are drying out more, but it's nothing some Aquaphor can't fix!

I've been reading rave reviews on the Cure Natural Aqua Gel for a while now and finally decided to purchase it. I tried it for the first time tonight. I don't have any flaky patches on my face, so I can't comment on how well it helps with that. Although, I'm sure it works great on those areas. It's definitely left my face feeling soft and smooth. I think it'll be a big help throughout my Accutane course since it's a gentle way to exfoliate. Definitely going to be an essential product!

Did a bunch of dead skin ball up and stuff? I am researching it because I think I want to try it too. I saw a video where a girl demonstrated it and it looked pretty cool. I can see it being a product that I want in my skin care regimine. The cheapest I could find it on amazon was 39$

Yep! The dead skin balled up. It's a good feeling knowing you're getting all of it off your face!

I just checked Amazon. It looks like the seller I purchased it from raised the price a few bucks.

Yayyy I'm glad you like Cure as well! That stuff is amazing... my nose is shedding slightly and I just use the gel and it sloughs off all the dead skin with zero irritation! I use it 4-5 times a week and love it :) Plus it helps whatever other products absorb better.

Betsy, did you get the bag balm?

Hi Rachel! Glad to hear you're doing good. What is this Cure Natural Aqua Gel you're talking about? It sounds like an exfoliater of some sort? My skin's not super dry but I would love to get some of the flakes off, mostly my chin.

It's so nice! I'm kind of obsessed with scrubs and exfoliating. Obviously a harsh scrub is not going to be good during Accutane! This stuff is definitely going to be great. I almost can't wait for my skin to dry out and start flaking just so I can really see this stuff in action! tongue.png

It's an exfoliator from Japan. I've noticed quite a few people using it on Accutane because it gets all the dead skin off like a scrub would. However, it doesn't have any harsh bits or microbeads or anything like that. You rub it on your skin and it balls the dead skin up so you can just rinse it off!

I ordered it from Amazon. It seems that's where most people order it. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.co...37967146&sr=8-1

I did get it and I think I am in Love! My lips haven't felt this good in a long time! Hopefully it continues to work this well!

You'll love it! It's the #1 selling exfoliator in Japan... one sells every 20 seconds, and they don't do ANY advertising whatsoever, so that says a lot about the quality of the product! Bit pricey but it lasts for a very very long time and is definitely worth the money! I got it on Amazon as well... so happy I discovered it before starting accutane 🙂

Interesting. How does it exfoliate? It's not a BHA or AHA, right?

Not BHA or AHA... no beads or abrasive ingredients. It's this cooling gel that you put a slight layer on, and then after 30 seconds or so, you move your fingers around in a circular motion and seriously little white beads of dead skin just come up off your face. I can't imagine it irritating even the most sensitive of skin types. Rachel used hers with no problem, and I think she said her skin was quite sensitive.

Yeah, I can't imagine it irritating anyone's skin. I have sensitive skin that breaks out over everything, but this stuff is great! No irritation or anything. It's very gentle.

Oh! I decided to check out the website... The animated girl showing you how to use it is funny. Too cute!

Hopefully others will buy it and try it out... I think this might just be a must-have while on accutane!

Oh, wow! Cool! Now I want some! Japanese women have enviable skin. I use Boscia, which is from Japan. It's sooooo nice! I love the Vital Daily moisturizer spf 15. It smells like light jasmine flowers.

I agree! More people need to try this stuff! I almost bought it a month ago when I first saw someone mention it on here. Wish I had gotten it sooner! But, hey, I have it now! 😀

They do have amazing skin! I used the Boscia Clear Complexion kit many years ago. It didn't help my acne, unfortunately. The products were really nice though! I love their Luminizing Black Mask.

I agree. It's gentle but really does nothing for acne. Benzoyl peroxide worked the best for me. Can I just say, that I feel amazing not using topicals anymore? I friggin' hated how much time and burning and grossness it was every day and night.

I dislike Boscia's cleansers because they are too drying, but I LOVE their silky moisturizers. Also didn't like the BB cream, but that could be because it didn't match my skin tone and has like NO coverage.

Benzoyl peroxide makes me super itchy! I couldn't stand it. Lol. I do love not having to use topicals though! I just use Neosporin or a salicylic acid spot treatment. That's about it!

I haven't tried their BB cream, or any BB cream for that matter. The idea of a BB cream sounds great, but I haven't found any that match my skin tone. I have such fair skin that everything is always too yellow for me. Boo! 🙁

But hey, after you're finished Accutane, you won't need much coverage! 😀

Agree! I actually love mineral powders because they are so light on the skin and look really natural. No irritation either! Whenever I wear foundation, I can't stand the silicony feeling and can't wait to wash it off!!!

Ditto! I've been using Everyday Minerals for years. I like to keep a liquid foundation on hand for when I need extra coverage though. What kind of mineral powder do you use?

I alternate between this local brand called Twig: http://www.skinnypur...g-cosmetics.asp and Physician's Formula talc-free loose powder.

The Twig has good coverage, but is kind of shiny, so sometimes I like the Physician's Formula instead because it is more matte. Although, it has less coverage. Meh, it's okay. The main part about it is it never breaks me out.

What liquid foundation do you use sometimes? I tried Clinique acne solutions foundation which looked amazing! And then became really flaky and made my skin too dry. Gross. I don't think I like Clinique foundations very much since I used the Super Balanced liquid a few years ago and it made me look like a grease ball!

The only tinted moisturizer I've ever liked is Aveda spf 15 tinted moisturizer. It's beautiful!
