The log you are talking about Rachel is Quiescence logs. She does do some crazy graphs. When I came across her log I friended her so I could look at it again. Only reason I remember lol.

Katie, ugh girl I feel for you. I know what you mean about fearing the no success. I start month 4 next week.. There is no sight of a end to this either. All I can do is hope for the best and try to remain positive. I know its easier said than done. Funny I can hash out the advice but I can't take it. Im in your same boat. Lets throw a pity party!

It's so hard to stay positive when you're halfway done & have experienced clearing...but still look like you started a few weeks ago. I haven't totally given up hope...but I have my doubts. We both need to try and push these negative thoughts out of our minds. It's such a hard thing to do. We definitely need to throw a pity party at this point, hahaha.

I hate you, acne! angry.png

I know it's hard to stay positive when your halfway done. I am 3/4 done next Wednesday. I'm scared as hell that this Isnt working. I have hope that it will still work. That maybe I have a chance of getting clear in the next 2 months. I sure hope so, how could I fall into the 8% of people this medication doesn't work for? How could the both of us fall into the 8% ? I don't know what to say or do to make either of us feel better. Hopefully we can smile and have fun and get past this and somehow end up with a clear face.

I know that when I started this medication I thought there was no way in hell I'd have acne at this point in the game. Yet here we are. Evil evil acne

It is weird! I can't help but wonder what causes the random cycles of breakouts. There must be something behind it... Hopefully you'll clear up and stay clear soon! :)

Thanks! Gonna have to look at that again! It was pretty interesting to see!

I wonder what would be causing such weird fluctuating breakouts? Ovulation spike then menstruation 2 weeks later?

I feel the same exact way. After all the research I've done and positive things that you hear about Accutane, of course you're going to believe that it'll work for you. Especially since it clears people who have severe acne, which both of us don't have! You think that it would work just as well for people dealing with moderate acne. I really hope we both clear up, Betsy. This treatment is too hard to go through for it not to work.

Thanks, I really really hope I do, too! I'm hoping three more months will do the trick! eusa_pray.gifeusa_pray.gifeusa_pray.gif

I always noticed my acne would flare right before menstruation. However, since I've been on Accutane it seems to flare whenever the hell it wants to. The one thing that I want to ask my derm when I see her again is why the hell is my jawline going through hell when it wasn't before I started Accutane? She might not even have the answer. She thought I'd be clearing nicely by the end of month two...but I wasn't. She also told me that I should definitely see improvement by the end of month three, which is in about four weeks. I think I'm going to be one of those people who don't see improvement until the end...

You can post on my log as much as you want!! I just put a rather lengthly update on my log. lol. Woo hoo for 5 days off! Thats going to be awesome. Weather is going to be really nice this week here. So I am assuming it will be great there too since we are kind of close. Kind of. Sleep in and get out there are have some fun! Thats what I am going to be doing. My daughter gets out of school this Thursday and thankfully she really enjoys sleeping in. Just like her mommy 🙂 So I am going to sleep sleep sleep friday. I haven't slept in, in quite some time. I'll probably be up at 6:45 AM anyways because my body time clock is set there but it will be nice not to have that annoying alarm waking me up anyways 🙂

The jaw..... Evil evil jaw pimples, girl I feel ya. My jaw has been a disaster area for like 2 months, before that I never had a zit on my jaw. Chin different story but my jaw never. It's like acne needs to touch everywhere on our faces before we can get rid of it. Its grasping everything it can!!

What the heck is up with Accutane and jaw acne? There HAS to be some medical explanation for it besides for the fact that Accutane makes things somewhat worse before it gets better. My jawline looks really bad right now, and everything else is what seems to be improving. WHEN DOES IT ENDDDDD? eusa_wall.gif

Hope you enjoy your time off, Taylor!

Sorry to hear about the new zits. 🙁 The jawline seems to be a pretty popular area for zits to pop up while on Accutane. I wonder why that is... Either way, I'm not looking forward to it! Lol.

Day 70

A lovely side effect has occurred. So I noticed my eyelid was feeling tender yesterday, and now today it is swollen and painful¦even when I blink it hurts. My vision is also blurry. I thought it was a pimple, but after doing some research online, I™m pretty damn sure it™s a stye. I am going to call my dermatologist on my break at work, because I™m not exactly sure what to do. I™m kinda freaking out over this. :(

Acne? Jawline is still messy. The big cystic pimple from weeks ago is continuing to get smaller & smaller. I have a small whitehead that popped up on my cheek below the big one from last week.

I just posted on my log suggesting that you probably have a stye.. I have these drops for when I have had them. They are nothing to worry about. They just need to run its course just like everything else.

Those two whiteheads came to a head last night, one actually was so dried off it just fell off, the other was tiny and I just poked at it and it popped. Now I have two adorable red scabs.. I've realized that it takes FOREVER for shit to heal on this medicine. One whitehead from literally 3 weeks ago still has a light pink scab that won't come off, and then another whitehead has had a scab since it was popped a week ago.

CMON MAN.

I know exactly what you mean! Scabs from last weeks whiteheads are still lingering on my face. I keep moisturizing them in hopes of that helping them heal. It's so hard not to become frustrated & impatient! huh.png

Scabs will stick around that long? That's so frustrating! :( I figured they'd clear up faster than that.

I've definitely noticed that too! I have a few pimples hanging in there still, and they've been there for maybe 2 weeks grrrrrr. They're shrinking, but definitely still there.

Katie- if you can't afford to take off work to see a doc, you might want to check out a CVS Minute Clinic. Not sure if you have any near you, but my friend who is a nurse introduced me to them when I had a UTI and really didn't feel like booking an appointment and waiting days for a doc. You just walk in and give them your insurance card and they can often take you right then and there. And I don't think they close until 7pm or so.

Mine finally went away! It's amazing how long it takes skin to heal on this drug. I know picking doesn't help, and lately I can't help myself. My hands need to be tied behind my back so I don't do it.

Wow! I have a CVS right around the corner from me, literally. If it doesn't go away with these stye eye drops I bought, I may have to check that out. It was really awful trying to drive to/from work today with the fogginess in my left eye. I'm hoping I don't wake up tomorrow with it worse than today. Maybe these drops will help.

Only certain CVS stores have a minute clinic, it should say outside by the sign. You can also google it and find one if the one close to you doesn't include it.

Aww Katie that stye thing sucks! It should go away with those drops - I hope it does quickly. Side effects like that are the worst, I mean if we all had baby smooth skin on our face we could take the side effects a lot easier, ya know?

I am having a horrible time not picking!! My jaw cyst peeled today and made the skin raw and kind of oozy so now it's starting to scab and I just want to pick it off so bad!! So bad!!! I absent mindingly scratched at a tiny, tiny bump on my cheekbone and now it's a red scab too. Ugh! eusa_wall.gif

It is weird that it takes forever for stuff to heal on this, but I guess it's because our skin is so fragile? Who knows.. I just don't like these scabbies

I'm sorry about your stye! I've never had one in my life, my dad used to randomly get them all the time!!!

Boooo go away, stye, go away! I had a stye as a kid, and it's not fun.

I agree about the jaw being a bitch. I haven't had more pimples crop up in that area, but there are stubborn cysts there that haven't budged since I started. Why are they so hard to get rid of? What is it about the jaw that causes that? Lymph node drainage? Lack of blood flow? Satan? haha Sorry, I ran out of ideas.

The stye is definitely annoying! I put drops in it and a warm compress...and today it does feel better. It's not as sore as it was, and my vision isn't blurry, thank god. I would take these side effects like they were nothing if my acne was really going away!

I am right there with you on the picking problem. ermm.gif I have three cystic zits that keep scabbing, and I keep picking them. I just want them to go away already!

That's probably why. It sucks, because I hate these scabs too!

It's okay - it feels better today. I'm hoping that it goes away. They're so annoying!!

I don't think I've ever had one before. I've had pink-eye before, but never a stye. The good news is that it's starting to go away (I think). YAY.

The jaw is my enemy right now. If I didn't have cysts on my jaw right now, I'd say that face was looking alright...but...this jaw acne just makes me think otherwise. Go away, jaw acne! angry.png

^I agree, the devil created acne for sure! Along with mosquitos and those awful see-through neon ponchos :-) Just had to throw that in there, good luck ladies, I am planning to begin a low-dose accutane soon so am reading your logs so I know what to expect and wishing you all success.

Hahaha I'm sure the devil had a lot of acne. 🙂

He also created stink bugs along with those damn mosquitos!

Good luck on starting Accutane! It's a long journey, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end!
