I'm at a standstill too :/

I was starting to get oily again at the end of month 1, but its gone away again. My lips r starting to get worse, I have to have aquaphor all the time or they crack, bleh... I was thinking of getting cortibalm, but idk...

Anyways, I think ur pics look good, u have nice skin tone. I'm so pale my marks stick out like sore thumbs... well red and purple thumbs, lol.

Well get better, I know it! Almost 40 days down for us!

Thanks! I like my skin tone too! lol That's actually the reason why I don't wear make up. I can't find a shade that I like better than my own one. haha But I have a major problem with dark spots and hyper pigmentation. =/ really sucks. It's always something isn't it?!

Isn't it weird that the oil can just come back like that? My oil came back (only a little..but still!) a day or 2 after I started taking 40mgs. I just don't get it! I'm still using a moisturizer that's for oily skin with no problems at all. It's like as my pores unclog themselves, oil takes it's place.

I have always been someone with dry lips and I am actually finding myself no using anything on my lips for hours at a time. Like right now, I haven't put any aquaphor on in at least 3 may 4 hours. Have you tried exfoliating your lips? That's a trick I've learned over the years of me dealing with cracked lips. I find that they only crack if I have a tough layer on top of them. Just about every night I slather my lips with vaseline. not a crap load but a very good bit. When I wake up, I take a warmish washcloth and wipe that tough layer right off. It's kinda the highlight of my morning. sad.. but I put some type of something on my lips as soon as I leave the bathroom. Seriously, if I wait even 5 minutes it feels like my efforts were made in vain. But I don't have to worry about my lips feeling tight or chapped or peeling all day. But then again, who knows how that will work for me when my lips actually do get dry..

I can't believe it's about to be 40 days!!!! When I took my pill last night, I was shocked that I was only 1 away from finishing the pack. It feels like it was literally last week that I was all excited about finishing the very first pack! haha These days are going really quickly for me and I don't like it because my summer is going quickly also. =/

Month 2: Day 13

I have 3 areas of interest on my face. 1 being the same pimple I thought had gone away. Well it came back with a vengeance. It looks like a horn coming out of my forehead! blah!!!!! Other areas are still my lower cheeks and my chin area. =/

Getting oilier by the day. My lips are turning extremely pink but not chapped at all.

I can still sleep in my contacts and not have a problem with them so no problem with dry eyes.

I think i'm taking sugar pills.. lol

Chest is almost totally clear though. Back..not so much..

I don't know what day I'm on at the moment, but I just want to note that I am very tired and irritable. I slept all day and when someone tried to bother me, I was just soooo annoyed. I just don't want to be bothered right now. I just feel like blah!

Month 2: Day 17???

Honestly.. I'm not feeling this at all. My face has not changed in about a week..maybe 2..

I'm still very much soo still oily. Seriously. I'm not exaggerating. The first thing my aunt told today was that my face was "so shiny" It's not that I want to see/feel side effects or have dry skin but Idk if it's psychological but I'd have some motivation to keep taking the pills if I knew they were working..

I started doing insanity (that crazy workout stuff) a few days ago and have not experienced any joint pain or muscle pain.. no soreness at all. And I'm so out of shape that my thighs hurt after a day of shopping so this is very weird to me!

I just.. I'm kinda over it..

Don't get me wrong. I'm going to keep going. I mean why not? it feels like I'm not taking anything.

I just started insanity a few weeks ago! I love it and was expecting to be extra sore, but little to no joint pains for me!

I am in the same boat as you.. I forgot I'm taking it because I've been at a standstill! But we just have to remember that the meds doing it's job, even if we can't see the results right now!

Month 2: Day 26..or 27???

Hello! It's been a while! Sorry.

Nothing really new to report even with the log absence. I have a derm appt on thursday. Unfortunately it's with a different doctor. =/ They just keep tossing me around. I don't like that place.

I will be letting her know about my somewhat oiliness. and i'll let my face speak for itself. I don't want to skip a day because I don't want to be on this medicine for longer than I have to and if I had chosen to make an appt with the same derm, I would have gone without it for 4 days. Not that long but I just didn't want to do that.

Day 60!!!!! (Month 2: Day 30) !!!!!!

Very exciting day! Just got back home. My dermatologist appt went well. I had a new doc today bc the one I usually go to only works on Mondays and this past Monday was Independence Day and she could only take me on the 11th which meant 4 days without pills.. So I just went to this doc today. Same place.. Different doc.

Anywho.. I'm kinda nervous about starting 60mgs. Oh yeah.. she bumped me up from 40mg to 60mg. I'm nervous because my usual doc told me that I would stay at 40mg for 2 months... hmmm.. But I am still somewhat producing oil. I have no side effects. Not even dry lips. (at least not out of the usual) And I'm still kinda breaking out. I got a new break out in the random stop between my tragus (sp?) and my side burn. *do girls have sideburns? I don't know what else to call it. And if not should I do something about this? because I obviously have them. =/

Anywho.. No bloodwork again! wooooohoooo! and I went to the desk to pay and she told me that I had a credit on my account with them so there was no need to pay anything! wooohooo! (I think it's because it take a little over a month for the bill to get to my house and my appts are 30 days apart but they make you pay any previous balance you may have when you pay for your current visit and my dad paid a bill that I'd taken care off during my last visit.. that's my theory.)

So I went to fill my prescription at walmart and they tell me it's out of stock and they won't be able to have it until sometime after noon tomorrow. bummer.. But smart me moved my appt up today so I would have a least this day's pill to take just in case something like this happened. Geaux me.

FACE UPDATE

I am still somewhat oily. Well not oily.. but I am still very much so producing oil. Most of my clogged pores have gone away. I still have a lot of them on my cheek area.. but the middle. like the hollows of my cheeks.. the part that you'd contour if you were to contour your face. The area that gets sucked in when you make the fishy face but it goes all the back. and kinda on my chin too. I have this one zit that is taking forever to completely go away. I didn't pick at it. I'm just letting it do it's thing.. but it's on my forehead. And when you don't have a lot of pimples on your face, the one you do have sicks out like a sore bright florescent thumb. (good problem to have with my history)

Chest is clear. Back is mostly clear.

So I've been trying out CeraVe

My doc gave me samples of their entire product line. I've only tried the moisturizers so far but I think I've used them enough to give my opinion on them.

AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion - Hate it. Well hate is a strong word. It's very thick. Hard to spread out. Makes me look shiny. Makes me feel greasy. But it also makes my skin feel and look soft and supple. It also has SPF 30 which is a major plus. I kinda dilute it with my Clinique. I do a clinique to cerave ratio of about 2:1. That stuff is just really thick! I'm pretty sure it's the SPF but that doesn't change the facts.

PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion - Like it. I kinda wish the AM had the consistency of the PM. The PM actually has the consistency of the clinique and AM combo. But no SPF.. I'll probably buy this one.

CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion - Good stuff. I actually can't really find a real difference between this and the PM facial lotion as far as consistency. BUT this probably won't work for dry dry skin. I really like the PM the best.

She also gave me samples of the face washes. The hydrating one and the foaming one. She said use the foaming when I wear makeup.. I don't wear make up so I probably won't be using this one.. I may start wearing makeup though. I like the barrier it gives my face. I have gotten 3 or 4 shades darker in a month!!! Not cool! I don't go outside! Well I do.. But it's just CRAYzy how being in the sun for 5 min can change my skin tone now! My face is soooo drastically darker thank my chest and legs it's ridiculous! I'm glad my boyfriend is in to this accutane thing and doesn't care. I think I would have gone crazy and have isolated myself by now. seriously.

I'll let you all know how the facial wash goes and how the lotion works with the 60mg dryness (if any lol)

Also.. I am starting P90X yoga today. Just the yoga.. not the workout.. and I do realize that the yoga is kinda the hardest part. I'm just gonna give it a try to get more flexible and lose a lil weight because I have gain some weight over these past 2 months and I'm small (not quite 5'1) so it shows a lot. I couldn't do the insanity workout. I'm too lazy. lol

1 more thing.. I am seriously thinking about taking biotin for my hair and whatnot.. I just don't want to take fish oil. What do you think??

First Day Starting 60mg!

Day 61.. Month 3: Day 1

Ahh! It was so hard to get this prescription filled! Yesterday, I went to walmart and they told me they had to order it and it would be in by today at noon.. I went back today at 7:30 pm only for them to tell me that it wasn't going to be ready until Monday..maybe. So after making sure I could get the prescription filled somewhere else, I decided to take the prescription back to see if some other pharmacy had it in stock.. and the was at around 8pm and pharmacies close at 9pm.. fml.

So I go to rite aid and they have it! They pull it out. It's staring me in my face. Then they tell me that they cannot fill my prescription because ipledge is showing that it has already been filled. So I leave feeling defeated..Thinking I guess I'm just gonna go back to walmart and act like I never took it back and wait till Monday. But by the time I got to my car, I'd decided to just call walmart to make sure they reversed it in ipledge too.. that maybe the lady made a mistake like how they made a mistake in telling me they would have my meds by today.. So I talk to the woman how put the scripts in the system and she said it's reversed. I said..well what about iPledge. she said "oh they pharmacist has to look at that screen" I say "well is the pharmacist available." she says yes then gets the pharmacist who tells me that the pharmacist at rite aid has to call her so she could give him the number she used to fill it.

AHH! So I walk back in and the pharmacist calls walmart and everything is worked out and I walk out with my meds!

It's just a little upsetting because if I hadn't called, I would have gone back to rite aid tomorrow and they would have told me the same thing. Just soooo disgusting that I was looking at the medicine and couldn't get it because of 1 little detail that someone failed to mention.

But whatever. I have it now. And I feel rather good about myself for not relying on them and getting it done myself. Geaux Me!! lol

Oh, I tried the CeraVe hydrating cleanser today.. ew.

I've taken 3 30mg pills so far.. Started with the 60mg dosage last night taking 1 30mg last night and 1 this morning.. and I took another tonight..

I have the worst headache!!!! AHHH! I've been having it for at least 12 hours now. I can't even sleep because it hurts so bad. =( Well goodnight.

I still have this headache. Officially has been about 27 hours of my head hurting. Oh. My. Gosh. But I guess it's my fault. I took 2 tylenols today and it kinda went away for about 2 hours. Then it came back with a vingance. I think it's an allergy or sinus headache though bc my eyes hurt when I move them. That's usually how those headache feel fell for me. But I'm afraid to take benadryl bc if it's drying affect. I think I'll stick to the Tylenol. I haven't even taken my 30mg pill from this morning bc I'm afraid it may be the accuatne and I seriously won't be able to handle this headache getting worse. (

I have been having the same thing after my dosage was upped! I think it's from the accutane because it starts about an hour after I take the pill. It feels like there is so much pressure in my head and I need to just release all the air in there! If it continues I'm going to call my derm.

Have your headaches started at all and you notice it gets worse after your pills? Or has it been relatively steady?

Hi Whitney! I haven't started my course yet..I get my bloodwork done tomorrow, so hopefully i will start Monday or Tuesday. But, how much water are you drinking each day? Maybe you are dehydrated and that is why you are getting a headache? Or, if it is sinus/allergy related, Advil for cold and sinus realllly helps me with sinus headaches! you could try taking that, and drinking a whole bunch of water to cover your bases? I hope you start to feel better!

Oh, and I love the reg cerave lotion, am I hate, and the pm doesn't impress me either, but the reg is fab!

Day 63! or.. Month 3: Day 3

So my headache is gone!! I decided to tough it out without taking any pain meds and it has gone away.

PoppyK I've definitely had accutane related headaches. And they feel just like the ones you described. I just think this one wasn't because my eyes hurt too and my accutane headaches are usually just headaches and my eyes are sensitive to light.. But I definitely don't know for sure because it's kinda suspicious that it happened as soon as I started taking 60mg. It's happened before for me when I first started at 20mg then they stopped coming until I was bumped to 40mg then went away and now it's back when I got bumped to 60mg.. You may be on to something. But.. to answer your question: as of tonight, I have taking my pills about 4 hours ago and the headache is still gone.. Ahh! I just don't know lol Definitely call your doctor if they keep coming because mine do go away or become far less frequent after a little while on a dosage. I'll keep you posted on if my headache comes back.

Make sure to call your pharmacy to make sure they have the meds in stock because I had to go to 3 before I found one that had them there! I definitely don't drink enough water. I only drink 2 bottles of water and maybe 4 big glasses of juice a day, but I know that's not enough. My boyfriend literally fusses at me about this.. like gives punishments like tickling me for some many minutes for not drinking a certain amount of bottles by a certain time of the day (torture!). lol I'm definitely going to kick it up a notch because I can't take another headache. I just can't.

Nothing new to report on my face. It's still the same as stated in the previous posts. And yes, I'm still somewhat oily. Unbelievable.

Hey Crystal! I'm doing much better now! I don't know if it was an accutane related headache. I'm really leaning towards a sinus headache.. But I did drink a crap load of water and juice yesterday and it's still gone.. Idk. But I'll be drinking way more water bc I cannot chance getting another headache like that! Ahh! It sucked so bad! Have you tried the crerave cleansers? I think the hydratimg one does what it claims it's just gross.. Lol

Yeah, I can't stand their cleansers. I like the liquid purpose cleanser best.

How's ur skin doing on 60mg? I know I'm breaking out bc of the increase. Pretty bummed right now about it. Hopefully this will be my last big breakout.

Face Update

My lips seem like they're about to start maybe getting dry.. I'm still producing oil, but this could be because of the lame cerave AM moisturizer I used today. That stuff really kinda sucks.. but it works.. =/

I got a pimple above my right eyebrow today. Seriously, I left to get my oil changed and came back and there it was. And that area on my mid cheeks, yep still there. Almost looks like the clogged pores that were there may kinda be starting to get pushed out.. (hopefully.) This is what I'm telling myself to not cry. I'm tired of breaking out. Gosh I hope next month my skin will look better. I think my face now looks like how it looked right before I started. You know, I was on the antibiotics (solodyn) and it was wasn't clear but it wasn't bad. Then I started accutane and my face went bananas, and now it's calmed down back to the antibiotics period. .sigh. I hope I'm just gonna clear up from here. I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick to 60mg for the rest of my course, so hopefully I won't have to worry about anymore "initial breakouts".

hey girl! looks like you're doing well. i wouldn't worry too much about breaking out right now. my derma told me i could break out until the last month or so! so it's pretty normal, i think.

did you say you suffered from headaches? what kind of pain was it? do you think it was dehydration? i've been dealing with headaches lately and i can't tell if drinking a lot of water helps or not.

Hi Julia! My headache was like this intense pinging pain on the one side of my forehead. And pain behind my eyes when I moved them. It wasn't really pressure. I could have been from dehydration though because I kicked my water/juice drinking up into high gear and the headache has not returned. But I'm really leaning toward a sinus headache. Are your eyes sensitive to light because that's one of the main things that I looks for when deciding if it's from the accutane.

no not at all. it's hard for me to decide what the headaches are from because i swear my whole life i've had them, you know? some days its a sharp pain, others a dull aching pain. yesterday when i laid down it was like pressure behind my eyes, too, but i don't think i've been drinking nearly enough for accutane. how much water do you consume a day?
