i love your blog! lol

im about to start my 2nd course of accutane in a few weeks, and i was just wondering, during your IB, was it only in areas where you had acne before or did the IB occur also in areas that didnt have a lot of acne before?

cuz my only problem is my cheeks. i dont break out anywhere else. the occaisional pimple on my chin or above my lip but nothing bad.

my 1st accutane course was about 3 yrs ago so i dont remember a lot of it.

oh! and when you mentioned memory loss, it never occurred to me, but after being on accutane ive had memory problems. nothing like amnesia-ish, but i'll forget who i spoke to about a certain topic or forget things that happened untill reminded. i used to be great in school not take much notes just remember lectures, but i noticed since accutane round 1 i have to take very detailed notes or else lol!!

your lucky your almost done, as i am just begning :( hopefully my 2nd round wont be as bad as 1st round.

It has been 4 long years since I last posted here...and a LOT has happened since then. I don't know if anyone reads old topics like mine, but I felt the need to post here to share some exciting news. I am nearly done with medical school and after careful consideration I have decided to pursue a career in dermatology. Although my acne has largely remained in remission (thank you Accutane), I certainly have not forgotten about the negative psychosocial impact acne had on me in the past. Thank you to everyone that supported me through my journey of my second course of Accutane; my only regret is not utilizing this website when I underwent my first course as a teenager. Reading through old replies made me realize how much I relied on others in this community to get through the hardest days. Thank you for the love, laughs, shoulder to cry on, and most of all, for just being there. I wish you all the best of luck in your quest to clear skin and please always remember that there is a community of others that are undergoing the same hardship as you at this very moment. Dermatology is among the most competitive residency positions to secure, but if everything works out in my favor I hope to see you in my clinic one day in the near future (of course, I hope you able to find a successful treatment before then!).

Love, G.
