I totally understand about not having enough to do over break. After being completely consumed in academics for a semester, it seems odd to come home and have nothing to do. i I have resorted to re-watching all of my tv on dvd sets. First one up..Sex and the City. I use Everyday Minerals as well, and I LOVE it! Is this the first time you've ever ordered from them?

I know, I feel guilty for relaxing so much since I normally have homework to do, or a lesson plan to write. I am a huge fan of SATC, I own every season and know every episode verbatim! This is the second time I'm ordering from EM because the colors I ordered the first time were way too light. Did you start Accutane today!?

Good luck to you too, that is too funny that we posted in eachother's logs at the same time. And yea right, guys need to buy us drinks to compensate for the amount of money we spend every month on makeup, hair products, tampons, birth control, ACCUTANE, and fashionable clothes.

oh ok cool thanks. Im gonna ask my doc about which one I should take. It seemed like orthocyclen would keep ur hormones more normal since its constant as opposed to starting off low then ending high, like on tri, but idk im not that smart lol.

I liked your post about the positive attitude with the sunroof what an inspiration! I'm so with you on the IB!! It's all good....hopefully it will clear up from here. The tumeric/olive oil regime sounds interesting...I'll have to look into that!!

Keep it up, clear skin is on the way.

Shoooot I wish I had nothing to do over break... I feel like all I've had for the past 3 weeks is one obligation after another.

i absoutely love your log.

its so funny and witty and you sound so much like myself its scary.

when you mentioned about going to the hair dressers and getting your make-up washed off.

I laughed to myself because i thought i was the only one who was worried about that.

I also prefer to go out to the bars with more dim lighting, but my skin has been treating me well lately thank goodness.

I just wanted to say good luck with accutane and keep posting cause its very fun to read!

take care!

hey giselle! just wanted to say i made an appt with a different derm for when i go back home. Do u think i could just lie and say ive tried retin A and Minocycline along with differin and clindamycin...which i really have tried. haha im contemplating it, a little white lie never hurt anybody :shhh: . if that fails ill just talk about how acne is ruining my life and i reallly want accutane. (Ive also been getting much moer cysts than i normally do, so i thin that'll help my case) My mom said the place is really upscale so im like maybe they will just be like yea we'll get more money this way haha. Hopefully in a couple weeks ill get the green light for tane! and i can make my own log! ANYWAY sorry for talking all about myself again haha, sounds like ur doing wonderfully on ur IB. look forward to reading more

UTVols, Lee H, Persisted - Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment! You make me feel warm and fuzzy inside

MEaGAiN - Sent you a PM/novel about my adventures in oral contraceptives and past experiences with Accutane. Obtaining Accutane is like getting a speeding ticket - all you have to do is cry!

Kaitlynanne - I am glad that you enjoy my log, sometimes I am too silly for my own good. The next time we are resigned to the darkest corner of the bar, instead of worrying about our own skin, maybe we should check out the state of the people around us. It sounds like every dark corner contains people with acne and/or physical imperfections! At times I feel like a vampire because I avoid direct sunlight as well. Maybe I can find a hot vampire boyfriend like Edward in Twilight!?

Month 1, Week 3

Day 19

The IB saga continues. Mmmyea so completely disregard any statement I made in the last post about my IB clearing up. Such lies!! My face is giving birth to cysts and blackheads and God knows what else. Shoot, my former optimistic take on the IB is wearing *dangerously* thin.

As I said to my mum earlier today, this breakout is different from all the rest because it has an inevitable end. All the breakouts I had before I went on Accutane were relentless with no end in sight. I was optimistic at one point today, anyways. :bs:

Soooo, that means that rather than my skin clearing up, I have in fact adopted the Idontgiveafuck attitude. I took my IB out for a diet coke (my faux rum and coke) on Saturday night, since it is my last weekend in town. I actually have a funny story about that one.

So I was meeting my friend at this crowded little college bar. It was kind of late so there was a line outside. I got in line and noticed that the three guys standing in front of me went to my high school. I started talking to them and had a great conversation catching up on what everyone has done for the past 5 years. We were in line for a good five, ten minutes when this girl from our high school walked up and started talking to the guys, completely ignoring me. I stared at her waiting for her to make eye contact. When she finally did, I asked her how she was and she blatantly snubbed me. Of course, she did the most natural thing, which was to cut me in line and stand with the guys in front of me. I stood there, silently cursing the 'popular' girls that thought they were better than me in HS, and who still think they are better than me now, despite the fact none of them went to college and many became druggies and/or have several kids with several different fathers. Poop on them. I then noticed that my freshman prom date was a bouncer at the entrance of the bar. I stepped out of line to have a brief trip down memory lane with promboy, then he let me in ahead of all the people in line. It took every ounce of maturity within me to not turn around and smile smugly at the rat faced ogre when I walked in. :wavey: Even acne ridden losers can be VIP stat.

It would probably be appropriate to talk more about Accutane, huh? Side effects: facial skin is starting to dry out a bit. scalp has dried out somewhat and been having glorious time not washing hair every day. State of acne: horrendous, have discontinued all tumeric/olive oil treatment until acne decides to subside. Lots of mini cysts under skin, very strange zit near eye, among others.

I took a picture so you can fully appreciate my IB:

IB pic

Buona notte!!! I hope you dream about the land of clear skin tonight.

Hey girl hey!!

that picture is hilarious!! And funny story about the bar to---ehh so we have acne but we have soo much else going for us (shit that matters..like school and life smarts ha!) I admire your confidence to go out I was a lame hermit this weekend...missed out on some fun I should just get over it! ahh!

Anyways, I FEEL YOUR PAIN about the IB! It's disgusting, I feel it is the worse breakout I've ever had. I think mine might be drying out/clearing up but you know with these things hard to tell! Your positive attitude has helped me...there IS an end in sight!! Somewhere!!

I had that same issue with the colors at first too, they were way too light, and I didn't like the consistency (I think it was the original glo?)...it made me look SHINY! I finally got the buttered tan/semi matte which has been a godsend. Hopefully the new colors you order willl work well. I like how cheap everyday minerals is, much more reasonable than bare escentuals, which wreaked havoc on my pores. I actually am starting accutane tomorrow :shifty: I'm a little nervous. I had a bunch of issues with my insurance..they need a approval form from my derm first before they would cover it, and I managed to get everything faxed over and returned just in the knick of time, because today was the last day to pick it up. So all is well, and I take my first pill tomorrow. Hope all is well :D

ooh i love ur colorful makeup in ur IB pic :bah: and yea i hate when i get whiteheads on my teeth, especially the front ones man hahaha. oh so btw i just got my everyday minerals samples 2 days ago and yea even intensive is too light so first i put on revlon colorstay and then the everyday over it and it looks A LOT better. uhh oh yea i ended up going to my cousins apartment yesterday/today spending the night and everything! we took a BUNCH of pictures today at like 2pm!!! i know ive officially adopted ur idontgiveafuck attitude hah, my hermit status has officially been downgraded. Which is good cause my rents bought me a plane ticket to visit my friend at college in seattle this thurs-tues---she has/had severe acne so i feel really comfortable around her obviously. oh hope u enjoyed my super long response to ur PM. what can i say girls just have more, better things to say than boys ;)

Haha I am glad you all enjoyed my picture of the IB.

UTvols - I do think that 80mg/day is evil, stupid IB!! I wonder if my derm meant to prescribe 40mg QD but wrote a script for 40mg pills BID....yeahhh medical terminology

amanda16 - I was super excited to go to the store and stock up on lotions and potions! I went a little crazy and spent over $50 though so be careful because it addds up!! :chuck:

kaitlynanne - Edward's lips were purple, reckon he wears lipstick/makeup to cover up acne?

Reina - Your name is so pretty, did you know that it means "queen" in Spanish? I am so glad I heard about EM on here, or I would still be spending ridiculous amounts of money on BM. I am waiting for my skin to clear up before using the EM. Yayyyy for joining the Accutane party, I am excited that you finally got insurance issues taken care of!!

MEaGAiN - Hahaha as you could probably tell, I was super bored when I posted that picture. Acne on teeth is sexy, what can I say? Is the revlon colorstay a liquid foundation? I should try wearing the EM over my normal makeup, good idea. It is wonderful to have friends with acne, since they understand what all the fuss is about. You need to go on Accutane for the sole purpose of starting a log, so I can comment in it!!

LOL I've been reading people's logs for weeks now, in hopes that I would be as prepared as possible for this. So hopefully my side effects won't be too unbearable. I'm only on 40 mg a day to start, and my derm talked about moving it up in a few months. What are you currently taking?

I actually have a funny story about the clean and clear sheets. I was first introduced to them over spring break this year. I went down to PCB, FL with 6 other girls and we drove...in a minivan. It was quite cramped...and on the way back home, we stopped at a gas station and one of the girls took these sheets out of her purse and started using them. I took one reluctantly, not thinking I really needed one...but OMG...when I started blotting..I went through just one sheet for my forehead. It was terrible. Needless to say, I have been an avid user since. I don't know why I hadn't thought to use them before.

I think out of everything, I am most worried about the contact lenses. I hate wearing my glasses...I guess that the price I have to pay though. Mission this weekend: buy glasses that are presentable to the public

Well I hope everything is going well! :D

Reina - My cousin's daughter is named Reina, it must be becoming more common! Are you biracial? You sure don't look Cuban in your picture. I am biracial and people are constantly guessing about my ethnic background. That is too funny about the blotting sheets, I get so grossed out seeing my own oil transfer to the paper!! It was really bad when I was using BM, due to the bismuth. Even after I used 2 sheets on my face, it would still look shiny. I bought some Tina Fey-ish glasses, although I think it will just take us time to get accustomed to wearing glasses more often. Trust me, your eyes will thank you!

Tommy - Chucky is mine!!! :chuck: ...and Dan is too. :dan:

Me- "hey uhh i need accutane cause im going to start a log on acne.org... and giselle's gonna comment on it."

Derm- "Oh wow I didn't realize it was that bad that u were gonna start a log! ill overnight it and get it to u tomorrow!"
