If your acne has not responded to antibiotics and standard acne medication, it may be caused by demodex skin mites or byFungus (Malassezia, Yeast, Candida etc.).

Demodex skin mites can get out of control and cause acne like pustules and black heads all over your body. Demodex mites are microscopic parasites found on all humans. We all have them and tend to get more as we get older. The mites eat oil. Any drug or diet change that controls oil may temporarily control them somewhat. A normal immune system will keep them in check. When they get overpopulated, they cause skin problems. These parasites are not affected by most acne medications like antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, etc. There are anti-parasitic treatments both oral and topical that can help get them under control. Borax is one simple treatment that works.

Borax makes a really good shampoo. Just 2 simple ingredients - Borax and Water. Borax shampoo works well for many people sensitive or allergic to the chemicals found in commercial shampoos.
Borax kills demodex mites and lice. Borax shampoo helps scalp acne, fungus/yeast infections, dandruff and itchy scalp.

Borax is large molecule so the human body should not absorb it through the skin.

Mix 2 TBSP Borax to 2 cups of hot water. Break up the lumps as needed. Borax disolves better in hot water. Let it cool enough to use. You can put this in an old shampoo bottle. Shake well before using.
NOTE: This is "no poo" non-lathering shampoo. Borax shampoo is great for curly or regular hair. It doesn't lather but just massage it in the hair and scalp like regular shampoo. Your hair will feel slippery.

It helps to leave it on the scalp and face while showering, then rinse.

This works well for me.

Other web sites report that OB/GYN's suggest the Borax Soaking Bath for yeast or Candida infections. Borax could help people with seborrheic dermatitis in their scalp and face. Borax and Epsom Salt baths work well for body demodex mites causing body acne like lesions and itchy skin.
