Hello,

I've been reading posts on this website for years and I promised I would write a post one day when I found a solution to my body acne.

At last, I've found something that works for me. Sorry guys, unfortunately this will have to be only for girls. It's birth control.

About me, I'm a 22 year old and I've been suffering acne since I started puberty at 15. Since then, my face has cleared up, but my chest, shoulders, and back have been awful. The most revealing thing that I can wear is a t-shirt. It's that bad, the scarring resembles the spots on a Dalmatian.

I've tried everything, head and shoulders as body wash, zinc supplements, dawn soap as body wash, salicylic acid, and ointments galore. Nothing had a lasting effect. Sure my skin is clean clean clean, but I would always break out. That, combined with my itchy scalp led me to believe the problem is internal.

Then I started Tri Sprintec birth control. Week 3 and acne is gone. Gone! For years I've never had skin like this. It is even less oily, red, and irritated. How does this work? Tri Sprintec increases estrogen, so the male-female hormone in the body is balanced out. Before, I had too much male hormone, which caused my skin to produce too much sebum. Thus, the only way is to treat the acne from the inside out and heal the damaged skin from the outside.

Now the only thing I have to take care of is the scarring left behind. Thankfully after years of trial and error with acne, I have the solution to this too.

To erase the scars: use a 30% glycolic acid peel (mine is from amazon ) and apply all over the scar area, avoiding open wounds. Leave on for 15 min. Then step in the shower and rinse off. Don't scrub with a sponge as your skin will be delicate. Just rinse and leave alone. Do this 1-2 times a week depending on how much your skin can handle. Give a day or two in between each peel to let the skin rebuild a bit before the next peel. Warning, it will itch and burn but it works. Slowly but surely.

To aid the healing, I cut a raw aloe leaf and rub it all over. (You can buy a huge aloe leaf from international supermarkets like h-mart, grand mart) Acne scarring, combined with the glycolic peel leads to a delicate and healing skin. The aloe juices gives the skin moisture and "food" to help repair itself and grow new glowing skin. I know this works because after application, my scars are not pinkish / red but light brown and fading. As a plus, my skin is less itchy so I don't feel the need to pick or scratch.

Last things, if it is winter or dry where you live. Buy a humidifier. I got mine for 30$. If your shampoo has any sulfate / harsh chemicals, switch to all natural. I use burgs bees mango shampoo and I feel less dry after I shower. Remember your skin is healing, so spoil it by being gentle, and not making it fight tough conditions.

Hope this info finds you. Good luck
