I won't bore you with my dismal history with acne. I have struggled with back acne and face acne for 13 years. I have used everything sold in stores from topical to herbs and been down the topical Doctor prescribed medication road. Never has anything worked, almost hung up my towel. My whole family has perfect skin so I refused to give up, there was an underlying problem causing this and I was relentless to get to the bottom of it. Luckily, NEVER thought I'd say that, but I got a bad vaginal yeast infection that would not go away, it was triggered by Metronidazole for Bacterial Vaginitis. So I began to research heavily, because the Doc didn't seem to know how to cure me conceivably.
I discovered Candida Overgrowth in the digestive tract. And its long list of adverse effects on the entire body. Unreal. Acne came up, Pityrosporum Folliculitis(yeast overgrowth or fungi) came up. I dug into those face first and started to make some real changes in my diet for the first step, got on the Candida Diet! Awesome! Gotta make some real sacrifices food wise and learn to cook and prepare fresh food daily. Which is fine if you're as desperate as I was, couldn't continue to live my life with bumps on my pretty body.
2nd, and I'd like to say most importantly over diet, but diet is essential so, I discovered (online) during my research The No Soap and No Shampoo diet for the body! Again, Totally Awesome!
It sounds weird, gross, or whatever but I'm pretty sure the human body was created to survive at its peak without all those chemicals and harsh abrasives, regardless their fragrance. And fragrances actually exacerbate acne so again, purposeless. At first during this transitional time period I had an oily scalp but it normalized and now its lovely. My body took to it immediately though, I showered normally, lukewarm water, and got out and patted dry and put a LIGHT amount of Desert Essence Jojoba oil on my back, just at the top part and mid back where I would break out, and it cleared up the previous breakout and has kept it clear. NO more itch suddenly throughout the day alerting me zits were forming on my damn back. NO lotion, NO soap. Water and Jojoba on back. I put Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion on my arms and legs only.
My face, I started using Pond's Cold Cream cleanser on my face only before bed and that cleared my skin like never before and its moisturized nicely. Splash cold water on face when wake up and pat dry. If it felt a little dry I would put a SLIGHT amount of Jojoba oil on my face, go to gym, come home, shower immediately and no soap! A light moisturizer for my face after, I like Origins A Perfect World moisturizer w/ SPF. Good to go! Clear all day.
Now, I have been plagued with PMS and hormonal acne, it's really what would trigger it during ovulation and then again at the onset of my period. I have been through all those stages and remarkably still have clear skin! Tight!
The Candida diet, after a few weeks, will definitely regulate your hormones once your body has sufficient time adjusting to the new diet and cleansing the body and digestive tract of all those nasty yeasties and holes due to the yeast roots, take 2,000mg of Vitamin C and 50mg of Zinc daily also and that will help with recovery and healing.
So I hope my story can and will help anybody out there struggling with acne or folliculitis (folliculitis can also be put in check with Fluconazole) but the rest of the healthy lifestyle should continue for it to completely be cured.
Get to the root of the issue, there is one! Because we all can have perfect skin!
