I have been using benzoyl peroxide (2.5%) for a week now. I use it once in a day. This has caused some dark circles under my eyes and on eyelids. It also makes my face look wrinkled. I dont have much acne but get nearly 2 pimples in a week. Should i quit using BP or use it on only those spots where acne occur. I have lots of PIH spots on my face and am thinking of using kojic acid and using BP only on pimple heads. 2 or 3 pimples are not much but the wrinkly apperance and dark circles along with PIH spots make my face ugly. Should i quit BP or keep using it on pimple heads ? Also what can i do to reduce dark circles and flakey black skin on eyelids ?Please help!!!!

Benzoyl peroxide can be used as a spot treatment if you get very occasional acne but works even better preventatively if you apply it to the whole face daily (if you can tolerate it), or 2-3 times per week to the full face. Because it is drying (as are many acne treatments), make sure to use a mild cleanser, and to moisturize your face

Yes but it is causing dark circles and flakey and wrinkly skin around the eye area. What should i do to prevent it?

Apply coconut oil around the eyes at night. Then apply jojoba oil during the day.

Do not use use acne treatments directly under your eyes, under the eyebrows or on eyelids, and at the outside corners of your eyes, for one, because the skin here tends to be very delicate. Second, get yourself a good moisturizer, which you can use on these areas. I use the anti-aging moisturizer from paulas Choice cause i like the idea of preventing wrinkles, but cera-ve is good, too. Also, if your face skin feels drum-tight after washing/treating, which many people think means a treatment is working, but actually means your skin is too dry, you should be moisturizing anyway.

Another way to prevent dry patches, wrinkles and sunken, dark spots under the eye is to make sure youre drinking an adequate amount of water everyday to keep yourself hydrated.
